I ventured out of my regular Phở place(Footscray) and that’s fine — as this Phở is nice. Just like an ordinary(but by no means, ordinary) Phở place. Simple, quick service & $ 10 lunch! A-OK!

It’s been awhile since I last ate here. a bit runned down and you’d be tight pressed for elbow space if against the wall… it still gives off the typical we don’t give a sh? t vibe but the food I have to say is still not bad! The phở is somewhat like homemade. I still took a liking to it though. Also tried the beef brisket egg noodles. this I reckon was quite gd the only thing I would say is that they could have cooked the brisket a bit longer for my liking. //dt

Table was very dirty. Service was prompt. Ordered a wonton short soup & a beef noodle soup with sliced beef and brisket. Beef broth was pretty good, the brisket was extremely fatty and grisly. The wonton short soup never arrived. Whilst I followed up my wife’s missing soup for the second time, our table was used as a central service point resulting in a bowl of soup being spilt all over the floor and my wife. No apology offered to her — we cancelled the remainder of the order and left before I could finish my broth. Take a thick skin, something to clean the table with and an umbrella should you wish to venture here.

Being that I’m a white guy from the inner-city, I consider myself a Vietnamese connoisseur. And a wanker. But I do eat a disproportionate amount of Vietnamese food, and Phở Hoang’s crispy chicken on tomato rice is as good as any I’ve had. Nice work Phở Hoang.
