I love the view as you walk across the promenade! With amazing views of the city skyscrapers and the south side of Melbourne(Southbank) you can out your camera down because there is so many amazing spots! The walk down revels so many great bars and restaurants! Full of fun and exciting things to see! Don’t forget the model sail boat located outside the convention centre, or bang pop restaurant with is covered in mountain bikes for store decorations! Beautiful in the day and even more amazing at night :-)!

Hands up if you have been to South Wharf? Ok really… I didn’t mean the DFO — the other side, Yarra;s Edge. Behind the Exhibition Centre and the South Wharf DFO along the Yarra River — shhhhh! It’s top secret but I will let you in on it. Seriously, I have been living in this beautiful city for over 14 years and it always surprises me with spots I have never been before. So many bars and cafes and amongst those — The Bridge South Wharf. Service was great and the food lovingly prepared. I had the chicken burger for dinner. It was hands down the best burger and yummy chips I have come across ever! Now that is a big claim but I stand by it. Washed down with 2 rounds of single malt whiskey… I am going to be back real soon!

Quite a charming pub this one. It’s spacious yet cosy, offering a mix of tables, bar and couch spots to settle in to. The food selection was great — lamb shoulder in a wrap? Yes. I like a pub that gives me options outside of a parma. I was happy with the wine-by-the-glass list and my drinking companions were quite thrilled with their cocktails. I’d definitely come back for a drink or casual meal.

A spacious venue that will be amazing in summer when they throw open the windows and let the sunshine in. On our night there. We had a fabulous bartender that was a tops guy with what looked like fresh ink. Mixed up some delicious passion fruit bellinis. I was meant to stop at one and left the night with three in my belly. Owned by a guy that used to be in beasts of bourbon, so there could be a few rock star types hanging around there. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area.

Fancy a charming walk along the docks, replete with a converted boat shed? Whilst having an underlining of modern design and aesthetic, the bridge still pays homage to it’s foundations and traditions of the wharf area. The heritage and original look is retained. Venture in(no risk involved) for a good bar and dining experience, with affable and attentive bar and service staff. Chris, being a prime example. Food looks suspiciously too attractive; and one may end up spending a few dollars or in fact many. Chips arrive in too cute mini deep fryer basket things. Yes, The Bridge is a big space, but one that makes for a cozy and comfortable lounging experience. Unobtrusive yet on the money service. The south wharf area is under rated, and hopefully with the addition of bridge, as is the case with many others here, it may just yet lift it’s profile. the bridge also does rather a decent array an offerings of drinks and cocktail inventions; in the good way.

This is my local along with boatbuilders yard. Food is excellent café style and fresh and healthy, good coffee and wine list. Prices are moderate. You can pop in for some feta and sweet corn fritters with nice spicy chutney and a coffee for under $ 12. Lots to share or more filling main courses available. Great desserts too. Service is quick and very pleasant. Low key music so sit and read the newspaper in peace.

It’s such a shame that great places such as the Bridge Hotel in South Wharf don’t get enough publicity or limelight like other venues in inner Melbourne as having such great places to eat or get together with friends for a satisfying dining/going out experience. The Bridge has been open for about 5 weeks and I am glad I had the chance to dine and have a drink or three there. Such magnificent views of the river and Melbourne’s skyline. A hop skip and a jump from the Casino & right next to the Pollywoodside, I highly recommend this venue to dine at or, even better — have an event at. So spacious and with staff highly attentive and friendly I can tell you that you will not be disappointed with your experience at the Bridge. I dined on the Soft Shell Crab with a scrumptious side salad and I was not disappointed. With such a friendly atmosphere it isn’t hard not to talk to fellow patrons who were also extremely satisfied and happy with their meals. The bar at the Bridge is enormous and has plenty of room to sit at and also has outdoor tables swell as indoor. There are even comfy couches to sit on too. If you are in the area after a shop at DFO or after work, try The Bridge. I really think this venue would be perfect for Birthdays or business functions.
