Specialties
Mix mama’s recipes with high-quality gourmet Italian favourites and you’ve got the gist of Candelori’s in Smithfield. Whether you’re gnawing for gnocchi or anticipating an antipasto board for two, this a la carte Italian restaurant opens the pantry doors wide open with a large menu of pizzas, pastas, risottos, seafood, sizzling hot pots and grilled meats and specialities.
While the freshly made Neapolitan woodfired pizzas take centre stage, there’s no need to neglect the entrees, which include marinated white anchovies and sardines or the crumbed stuffed green olives with goat’s cheese. For the brave and the hungry, the lobster, scampi or T-bone should do the trick. Watch the blackboard specials for further surprises.
History
Established in 1999.
In the past, Sydney’s Greater West was never considered an area where a high quality, high class dining experience could be had. However, by May 1999, the industrial area of Smithfield was crying out for a restaurant where business people and families alike could convene in a pleasant atmosphere with good food and wine — until then, an experience exclusive to restaurants in the city. With this observation in mind, Candelori’s was opened and became the fourth in an accomplished line of restaurants owned an operated by the Candelori family in the past 35 years.
In 2014, Candelori’s reopened after significant renovations, once again setting the benchmark in the area with a beautiful new open-kitchen, classy cocktail bar and warm, spacious ambience. Specialising in premium quality traditional Italian cuisine, the Candelori’s experience remains unrivalled in Sydney’s west.
