We booked this venue for a function. First impression is that you walk into a smelly old pub but that impression changes as you head up to the private function room on floor 2. The room is spacious with tables and couches and a private bar. The drinks, food and service were standard so 3 star rating from me tonight.

Well, here is another one of those awesome craft beer bars that seem to be appearing everywhere, and this one certainly has character. It still has the charm of the old colonial hotel, and the beer garden out the back the nothing short of amazing. However it is the craft beers that really caught my attention — there were just so many of them. So many that they had an entire menu devoted to them, and I could only have one, which I have to admit is a real shame. Oh, they also have a pet cat that wanders around the place, though it disappeared pretty quickly after I discovered it.

Great pub with a fantastic rolling selection of beers on tap. Sadly headed somewhere around the corner for dinner so we couldn’t try the food.

They weren’t kidding when they said they changed the taps regularly, my favorite brew was already gone just two days later. Love this place!!!

Excellent craft beer venue with a lovely garden. Rotary taps, decent menu and friendly staff. This place is almost always busy so some forethought is required for larger groups. Aesthetically, it has a very cool vibe and is hands down the best pub in the area.

Alcohol! The cause of, and solution to, all life’s problems. Stupid sexy Flanders. I always thought this was kind of an old man pub(which is a surprise that I haven’t hit it up before now because they’re my favourite kind of pubs, holla at the old boys) but it’s actually a cool joint, and pretty trendy in a Shrine-To-Craft-Beer kind of way. You know those race ticket pole list things(got description? Yeesh) they have at the horse racing? There’s one here filled with beers instead of horse names. Like the Boris, or the Superfly, or the Hop Hog, and a thousand others besides to choose from. It makes for a hella fun time just pointing at things or beers with cool names and saying«Gimme.» I finished with a shandy — I’m bringing them back for summer — and the bar girl took the time to choose a beer she thought would go best with lemonade, a Coopers Artisinal, and yea! Verily, ’twas a fine choice and I did leave there suitably quenched. Come on Wednesday’s for $ 20 beer + ribs action.

Nice local spot to grab craft brew and a relaxing bite of food. Service is friendly, beer is great, and its all locals so you can get a good vibe from the regulars. Most nights of the weeks have special deals like chili dogs or ribs, so be sure to read the signs or ask.

After our end of year team lunch, the hardcore crew kicked on here. Its a nice old pub. Well done up. Good selection of beers on tap. Being the last working day before the break it was absolutely packed so we ended up on their little roof terrace which has a small bar attached. The range of beers up there is more limited but still good. We managed to commandeer the last table and settled in for the afternoon. Not sure how long we were there(the afternoon is a bit of a blur to be honest) but beers were drunk, crap was talked and a good time was had by all.

One of the few pubs in Sydney with a great selection of craft beers. If you’re into craft beers, don’t hesitate to check this place out. There’s plenty of space to have after work drinks or a chill social gathering with friends as well. The food is alright… I had the chicken burger before and while there was more bread than I liked, it did the job. Small TAB area too to kill some time.

This place has a good collection of Australian craft beer on tap. The best way to try it all out is to get a beer paddle and pick whatever sounds interesting to you. They’ve got a nice dining area at the back of the bar too. I didn’t try the food but they looked pretty good from the table next to us. Check out the open air beer garden at the back of the pub. I really like the ambiance.

Three sheets to the wind, three stars to the Quarry! I only ever come here when there is a farewell for someone leaving the company; You can find me here most Fridays. This place has a very definitive after work atmosphere. You come here for a few, get your night kickstarted then move somewhere else. They do have a great selection of beers; cluey + friendly staff; great vibe because everyones just knocked off for the week; Also the infamous Kraken rum resides here! Downsides? No three sheets pale ale even though it’s on the menu. The Q tends to be a bit on the pricey side. It’s one of those not enough staff too many patrons places so lines are lengthy and spills tend to linger… longer… I’ve done the upstairs gig a couple of times. Rooftoppy, nice view, and good amount of intimacy. Downsides there is very limited bar(unless you want to haul yo fat ass up and down the stairs all night) and it’s even pricier(ultra kick in the guts when that work tab runs out!) Never done the food here, wouldn’t know where to get it, or whether it’s worth getting.

I have been here repeatedly. Without fail, my first and sometimes second, and on this occasion my third beer selection were not available. Makes it frustrating when you are a beer connoisseur from Portland, Oregon to get beer besides a lager. I like hoppy beers and unfortunately, these seem to be the beers that are exhausted first. I would hope that the bar manager would recognize that there is an obvious demand for this style of beer and purchase more of it.

A group of friends and I wanted a laid back place to grab some drinks on Australia Day night, and Quarryman’s was perfect. I was especially impressed with the large selection of beers on tap. I would definitely go back here again.

Ah the Quarrymans Hotel on the corner of Bridge Road and Harris Street in Pyrmont. You’re quite an old pub, have somewhat sticky carpet and there is a stench of stale beer that sometimes wafts through certain parts of the place but I like you. For punters there is a small TAB area as you walk in and a few tables and chairs around the bar to grab a drink. Upstairs is the bistro with an area to eat or grab a drink upstairs but the nicest place is probably the roof top garden where you can grab some fresh air and sun whilst enjoying your food and drink. The Quarrymans might not be the flashiest place in town but I’m sure if you give it a go you’ll find a soft spot for it.
