History

Established in 1870.

The Hotel has a rough & chequered past. Standing atop Pyrmont’s working harbour, the pub was the first stop for merchant seaman & navy crews alike. Located just meters away from the wharfs’ of what is now Darling Harbour, the Hotel was known as a ‘wharfies pub’ & serviced the needs of hard men long at sea.

The Hotel has been renovated since the development & modernisation of Darling Harbour. The building was ‘Heritage Listed’ during the 1980’s & pains have been taken to maintain the Hotels original features. While the lunch & dinner crowds are typically relaxed & reserved, the revelry of old continues each night into the wee small hours. The Pyrmont Bridge Hotel remains one of Sydney’s only ‘true’ 24hr pubs!

The Hotel’s historic ground floor bar & plush renovated 1st floor & rooftop areas attract all walks of life including some of the colourful characters of years gone past. Locals, tourists, travellers, local business men & women all enjoy the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel hospitality 24hrs.
