I booked this place for my birthday dinner for a party of 17 and I have to say that Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with; the service and attention was impeccable. We filled out two tables which basically took up half the restaurant, yet it was still an intimate gathering. Since our eyes were bigger than our stomachs we decided to order everything off the menu. Yes, we actually said give us 1 of everything and then some more. NOREGRETS! One of the best bang for your buck meals you can get…3 courses(2 entrées, 1 main or 1 entrée, 1 main, 1 dessert) for just over $ 50 with ample portions to boot. The lamb, duck, and ravioli stood out to me. If I was a big fish eater I’d say the salmon/barramundi as well. but they were very tasty nonetheless. Excellent service, great food, and amazing value. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Pyrmont.

We came to Pyrama for a birthday and we had a very large group. Not only was Pyrama willing to take the large booking, there service was great! I have nothing to complain about the food either! We had such a large group we had 2 different tables that took over half the restaurant. The table I was at decided to order pretty much everything off the menu and share it amongst the table. It was a great idea as we were able to taste each and everything from the menu. Definitely recommend the lamb and beef as both were amazing. Meat was tender and juicy. The mushrooms that came with the beef though… were something else. Honestly it was my favorite thing I tried that night. The kingfish was also really good and super fresh. Would definitely check this place out again with perhaps a smaller group. They offer 1 – 3 course meals which vary in pricing, but no more than $ 55 for the 3 course meal. Great selection on the menu.

A local favourite spot, in the quiet part of Pyrmont, especially for weekend breakfast or brunch outdoor on the alfresco terrace. The allures fair trade coffee here is good, and the food is great, especially the scrambled eggs and everything’s well priced. My picks for Breakfast are the smoked salmon truffle — petuna smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, thyme roasted field mushrooms, truffle oil & chives on sourdough toast 17.5(the scrambled gags here are excellent), and the paesanella ricotta pancakes with fresh berries and maple syrup 16, or the bruschetta — petuna smoked salmon, avocado salsa and extra virgin olive oil 14.5. Also on offer are the snowy mountain cookies — triple choc, white chocolate & apricot or pecan & date 3.5, in-house baked croissant with butter and hanks triple berry jam 6, and the pyrama full breakfast of eggs, natural cased beef sausage, grilled bacon, tomato salad, thyme roasted field mushrooms, and buttered toast 17.5. Right down the road from Star City, this is also a good spot for pre-theatre dining and Pyrama offer a good value pre-theatre dinner special, 2 courses and a glass of wine for $ 45. Entrees on offer include salt and pepper calamari with harissa and coriander aioli, thirlmere handpicked duck liver pâté with sweet and sour onions and crostini, prosciutto, corella pear, blue cheese, radicchio and walnut salad. Mains include: roast riverina lamb loin with sweet potato and spiced french couscous„ confit duck maryland with creamed savoy cabbage, chestnuts and pear, beer battered fresh flathead fillets & chips with housemade tartare sauce(1 course $ 29, 2 courses $ 40, 3 courses $ 52). My pick for Dessert are the french chocolate pots de crème with rhubarb and strawberry compote, the vanilla bean bavarois with poached cherries and spiced tuiles, or the selection of cheeses with dates, nigella & sesame seed crisp breads.

The staff at Pyrama will give you the best service you’ve ever had. That might be a huge call, but I can sincerely say that the waitresses at Pyrama are the best I’ve been served by. They’re friendly, they know what you need just as you’re thinking that you need it, they have good wine knowledge and a good sense of humour, they never stop smiling and if by chance something does happen to go wrong, they’ll accept any wrongdoings and go out of their way to make up for it. I’ve been to Pyrama on two different occasions and both times the service has been outstanding. What’s more, the food is fantastic. The menu changes regularly, maintaining the similar French inspired Mod Aus cuisine. The food is cooked perfectly and in satisfyingly ample portions. If however you need that little bit extra, the sides are equally delicious(creamy mashed potato with truffle oil was wowing). The restaurant is cosy inside when it’s bucketing down rain and the outside settings are beautiful on a late summers evening. The wine list is extensive and they stock my new favourite wine, the 2010 Tom(name escaping me) Pinot Gris. This place is a delight. And an affordable one too — the pricing is done in terms of courses: one course for $ 29, two for $ 40 and three for $ 52. Go for three, it’s worth it. And if you feel so full you might fall over, Pyrmont bay makes for a beautiful post dinner walk. Or you can take the tiny totter down to the tram station to make your way home.
