I’ve been coming here since I was a baby! BESTPIZZAINTHEWORLD. Gosh, nothing beats it. They’ve perfected their sauce & dough and use fresh ingredients, I always order their The LOT and can say it’s probably my favourite food in the whole world. Shame they’re not open sun-tues. If you’re ever at Preston market, don’t walk past it with out buying at slice!

I feel like I spend about 90% of my life waiting for a train at Preston station. Luckily, Preston markets is a short walk from the station, and is home to Vinnie’s Half Price Pizza. As Joanne P. has mentioned, this place has been voted by Fox FM as Melbourne’s Best Pizza, although that title is pretty misleading(and absurd). How many times have you ordered Domino’s deep pan pizza, only to find yourself reheating leftovers at work the next day? That’s basically what you are getting here. I don’t love Vinnie’s because it’s authentic Italian, I love Vinnie’s because sometimes I just want some fast, cheap comfort food in the form of greasy cheese. At Vinnie’s you can buy a giant slice of pizza(in all the usual flavours) for $ 2.90. They cut the slice in half for you so it fits in a takeaway bag. Don’t be put off by the inevitable lunch time queue, the service here is quick and friendly.

Fox Fm listeners have voted this take away pizza joint in Preston market as Melbourne’s best pizza. I disagree. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza here is some of the best deep dish pizza I’ve tried. At $ 2.90 for a huge 2 piece slice its a cheap, delicious and fast lunch option! The reason I disagree is because I love authentic thin Italian pizza and you will not find it here. Here you will find margarita, vegetarian, Mexican, Hawaiian, capricosa heaped pizza sold by the slice or whole. There are great family deals too. The staff are quick to hand you your purchase and you can buy soft drink too to wash it down. If you love deep dish pizza give Domino’s a miss and head to Vinnie’s.
