Description

Specialties

Momo — Tibetian word for dumplings. This deliciousness came down from the mountains of Tibet to Kathmandu in the 50’s and 60’s. Due to its deliciousness, the Kathmanduites adopted it and have been experimenting with it in various shapes, flavours and textures.

O!MOMO is a pop-up food stall operating at festivals and markets in NSW. We specialise in MOMO — delicious dumplings filled with chicken, herbs, specially prepared spices and accompanied with a tasty homemade tomato chutney. We also serve out vegetarian option as well filled with mushrooms and cabbage.

History

Established in 2010.

Started in 2010 by a Nepali immigrant in Sydney with a aim to popularise Momos — the most popular dish in Nepal.

Having studied in Australia and attending many festivals and concerts, the creator of O! MOMO realised that there was a gap in the market for these delicate dumpling.

With no background in the hospitality industry or cooking, he undertook some research back home in Nepal and with the help of his grandmother, mum, street vendors he learnt to make momos, the equipments required and the business behind it.

Since then, O! MOMO has been going from strength to strength participating in over 50 events in the past year. O! MOMO has been featured on FBi radio, operated in Hunter Valley, helped Red Cross hold charity events, traded at the Lo Fi Bar, participated in Field Day to now holding residency at The World Bar in Potts Point.

In the future, O! MOMO aims to establish a proper home in Sydney.
