I went to Macleay’s after seeing they had exclusively 4 and 5 star reviews on Unilocal and I was a little disappointed… That’s not to say it was bad, just not as good as I was expecting. I had the ‘Mexican’ pizza which is essentially and American hot with a few extra cajun spices and some extra meat thrown in for good measures. I suspect I was expecting too much from the existing Unilocal reviews, which is why it didn’t live up to my expectations. If I fancy a pizza again while I’m here, I will consider going back to Macleays.

I would go here all the time while living in Sydney as it was only about 3 blocks down from where I was living — so if I wanted something quick, delicious and cheap I would grab a pie from Macleay’s. Really yummy pizza and very fast as well! I would usually get a small size pizza with black olives and mushrooms.

The BBQ meatlovers pizza is soooo good. Honestly, I haven’t ordered anything else. Why would you want to?

With Gourmet Pizza taking over the industry, Macleay Pizza still manages to thrive serving traditional pizza, I cannot think of any other reason than, because their Pizza is so good and reasonable in price. On Macleay Street in Potts point shops and restaurants can and do charge whatever they want for their product, Macleay Pizza however offers a great service at a price below the standard for the area, there is an ethic in this which deserves respect. I ordered the Supreme(how can you go wrong) requesting no olives or anchovies and what I got was a big delicious Pizza with a perfect crust(and the crust can make all the difference). The other thing worth noting about Macleay’s is it stays open really late so is perfect for that late night dinner or snack.
