Wow Perth, you’ve made me so proud again by this amazing festival you’ve put on for us! 80+ music acts, visual art and food trucks, what more could you want? Please Celebrate WA, make it happen every year!!! My friends and I bought the $ 35 tickets(+bf) so we could experience as many acts as we could! If you didn’t want to buy these cheap as chips tickets you could take in the many free pop up acoustic acts. The festival took place in the Perth Cultural Centre with 4 stages — Urban Orchard stage, State Theatre courtyard, WA Museum stage and Pica surrounds free stage. The festival kicked off at 12pm with free performances on the Pica stage and finished at 10pm. The stand out performances for me were Ruby Boots, Morgan Bain, Split Seconds, Optamus, Drapht, Eskimo Joe and the various dj’s pumping out groovy tunes.

As a part of the WA Day long weekend, SOTA festival was the perfect way to celebrate all that is wonderful about our state. The event brought people together in the Perth Cultural Centre with a great combination of live music, art and food for them to enjoy. There was plenty to do and see with pop up acoustic performances, visual art on display, 4 stages, bars and food trucks. There was definitely a buzz around the venue with a variety of people all coming together and celebrating WA. The highlights for me would definately be San Cisco rocking out on the Museum stage and devouring some mac n cheese bites from the Merrywell food truck. The Telstra tent also deserves a mention for providing cute vintage couches and phone chargers, a great idea that should be at every festival.
