Elite Event: Chevron Festival Gardens

I was excited to attend my first Elite Event and it was a huge bonus it was at the Chevron Festival Gardens as I had wanted to check these out for the last couple of years! What a great introduction to Unilocal … !! Stunning night weather wise to start with, and it was awesome to put some Unilocal names to faces! And wow what a welcoming group!
The Festival Garden area was awesome it was almost like I had stepped through the looking glass when I entered. As far as the event goes the warm up act was Mathus which was a rap act. The headliner, 100 Million Nights was a cool mix of music and art and a perfect combination for the outdoor venue! The food and drink stalls in the gardens had a great selection of food and drinks and my dinner was delicious.
A very well organised event and I look forward to more throughout the year! Thanks to Laura & the Unilocal team for a great introduction to Unilocal events!

I love this time of the year — getting myself cultured!!!
It also marks the anniversary of my first Unilocal Elite event. Time flies when you’re
having so much Unilocal fun especially when Laura & her team are at the helm. I like everything about the Festival Garden — food stalls, licensed bar, chill out area with your mates and the best thing is that it is free! My date and I received a gourmet food and drinks voucher.
It was a great evening to meet new Unilocalies and catch up with old friends.

The benefits if Unilocal just keep coming, with the option of joining the Unilocal crew on an outing to the Perth festival gardens; what is there not to like about mingling with like minded and fun fellow Unilocalers, enjoying some lovely food, partaking in a couple of free beverages and enjoying a show.
As always the Unilocal event was a great opportunity to meet new friends, reconnect with people and generally enjoy an aspect of the Perth business and cultural scene; thanks Laura and Perth Festival for arranging a special opportunity for the squad, I am sure everyone enjoyed the evening.

A bar in the stage area — win! I really enjoyed the support performance by Aussie hip hop artist Mathas. I think had the 100 Million Nights act been performed in a smaller, indoor venue the visuals would have been even more captivating and engaging. Although still enjoyable.

What an amazing event! it was my first time at the Chevron Festival Gardens and the venue is just awesome! Really enjoyed the atmosphere, people and music. Event was very well organised and heaps of fun!

Summer in Perth is all about the festivals, cold drinks, good vibes and long nights. The pop-​up Chevron Festival Garden is the place to go and to be seen this summer with DJing from Dutch masters Radio Barkas, food and drinks and lots of events for everyone.
Armed with two free drink and a food voucher, we set off mingling, drinking, relaxing, eating and chatting. The bar has a range of boutique beers, cider, soft drinks as well as tea and coffee. The food is okay and offers easy meals such as vegetable korma and dhal, hot dogs, chili con carne and nachos.
The event itself, supported by Australian artist, Mathas suited the summer night well with his indie/​hiphop, honest lyrical ballads about human behaviour and Australia. Following, was the main event — 100 Million Nights, a collaboration between the Canyons and visual artist Daniel Boyd which mixed music and video installation creating a sensory overloading experience that is well worth it.
Thanks Laura! I have nothing but thanks and admiration to Unilocal’s dedication to organisation elite events.

I love the Chevron Festival Gardens, they are a great place to hang out in the city of Perth during summer and if you and you can even watch a great concert there to.
The food options were great with healthy options to the typical hot dog and chips. I ate the vegetarian korma which was great. I wish they had salt available though, but that is bad for me.
I know where I will be this summer I imagine I will be frequenting the bar and have already bought tickets to see owl eyes!
Thank you Perth for setting up this great concert festival and beer garden again this summer and to Unilocal and miss Laura D for a great evening.

Another five-​star event arranged by our Perth Unilocal Manager Laura. Lovely once again to catch up with the Unilocal crew and make new friends. Terrific way to spend a balmy Summer night.
A tip for all dear readers: you can get in to the Chevron Festival Gardens during the festival for free. The paid acts are via an inner enclosed area. But there is nothing to stop you from enjoying the art and atmosphere in the garden area (full bar and food vendors, coffee too) and just listening to the music acts. Of course, I am not advocating this per se, but if an act sells out, you don’t necessarily have to miss out.
A support rapper with an interesting repertoire including a story about his first love — tobacco and a really interesting main act «100 Million Nights». Four blokes churning out some very modern electronic sounds, supported by some serious percussion. For me, it was a different experience to just listen (from the Chevron Gardens) to watching (from within the paid entry/​seating/​stage area). I have to admit I preferred just listening. There was a lot going on with the lighting and the interesting artistic visuals behind. But it was the intermittent retina-​destroying strobe that killed it for me. Just listening I somehow got more from the music. I guess I was less distracted?
Thank you once again Unilocal for coming in to my life and bringing me such a variety of enjoyment.

How Unilocal keep putting on all of these amazing events is beyond me!

We were all treated to a couple of free drinks, food & entry to the show 100 Million Nights, supported by Mathas.
The drinks range at the bar was quite extensive and there were lots of yummy beer options which kept me happy :) The food was okay, there were lots of options and the hot dogs seemed to hit the spot!
The Festival gardens are great with a lot of seating for different sized groups, There was no big table for all the Unilocalers so we were spread out a bit but noone seemed to mind.
The show itself was really good.
Mathas the Australian hip hop artist surprised me as I don’t normally like that kind of music but his lyrics were clever and not about having a «Bali Party» or a «hoverboard.»
The Canyons & Daniel Boyd collaboration, 100 Million nights was so beautiful, the way the music and the visuals behind the band went together was really great. Unfortunately because of a really long interval between the two I couldn’t stay for the whole show (nanna needs to be in bed early on a work night!) but the hour I did see was amazing.

Per my review on the Festival Gardens, I love this place and I love this event. Nothing breaks up a week with an evening under the stars drinking (free) beer, eating (free) chile con carne, and listening to (free) music. Dagnammit, I love Unilocal.Being exposed to new surroundings, new people and new music is the highlight (a free event is just the icing on the cake!).
For some, Perth isn’t always easy to love. It is expensive (times infinity). It can be cliquey. And, it can feel like nothing cool ever happens. Then… BAM… Unilocal SAVES THE DAY!
Here’s Unilocal giving the insight to cool things that are occurring in and around town, scouting out deals, passing out free passes, and introducing you to friendly peeps… where? That’s right… here in Perth… (small) lil’ Perth that is growing into some mighty fine (bigger) britches.
Unilocal has been a serious godsend to this expat! Chevron Festival Gardens is just one of the cool happenings here and it is a pleasure to be there to soak up the evening breezes, delicious food, drinks and fantastic company. Thanks Unilocal and Laura D-​lite!

It is such an exciting time of the year to be living in Perth! I was so excited at being invited to this last Elite Event because we were able to sample the chilled out settings of Chevron Festival Gardens.
It makes me think even if I didn’t return to watch one of the events I would love to just come by the gardens and chill out with a drink and dinner. The music pumping from the music-​car were super pleasant to relax to after a day of work. The menu (that I think works for/​with Comestibles) is fresh, well portioned, affordable and delicious.
The space itself is comfortable and welcoming to all types of people with a vibe I hope to experience a lot in Perth during festival seasons.
The event ‘100 Million nights’ was worth checking out with Mathus performing thoughtful lyrics in a very cool stage setting. He was amazing at performing by himself and overall I think everybody else at the Elite event had a fantastic time!

A chance to catch up with a variety of people both Elites from the past and the new comers. Chevron Festival Gardens is a great venue for being able to catch up with people as well as listen to good music.

I really enjoyed myself last night. It was the first time I had been to the Chevron Festival Gardens and was really surprised by how amazing it was.
The Elite event was so much fun. Free drinks, food AND entry!
There was a lot of variety with the drinks and some great choices with the food as well.
It was a really fun night out and it was nice to meet a some fellow Unilocalers.
I loved that we got to take a little souvenir home for the night as well. The sweatband was an extra little touch for the night.
