As coffee goes, this café is a winner — they do very nice coffee and they don’t bat an eyelid when I ask for a large size. They do a good job at that too. Their service is lovely and their food offerings are appetising. I had a tasty Roast Chicken Salad Sandwich on Rye. Good one.

Pleasant enough on my first visit. They get the 3* because when I tried to use my debit card at the counter, the lady informed me of the $ 10 minimum charge… and offered to simply add $ 0.50 to get me to their minimum. Ummmmm… no. The coffee was pretty good once I paid for it in cash.

I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t really say how good or bad this place is based on that HOWEVER… I know some good banana bread when I eat it and unfortunately, this place didn’t hit the mark for me. I found the slice($ 5) that I did get, although quite substantial, was a bit dry and despite the excessive butter I added to it to try and compensate for it, I’m pretty certain that my arteries haven’t forgiven me for it. Admittedly, there were a LOT of other(healthy) options displayed in the counter windows but as soon as I see banana bread — I can’t concentrate on anything else. The staff were great and efficient and the place was really clean though. I would probably give this place a go again to try one of their other fruity looking muffins lined up in the window.

This bustling café on the terrace always has a queue of people lining up for their creamy coffee! One of my favourite coffee spots in the CBD, not only because the coffee is great but the people working there are warm and friendly. If you’re heading there for the first time, just keep an eye out for the bright orange chairs out on the pavement which make the café easy to spot.

If you’re in the city for a meeting or an interview and have arrived too early then Rosso on St Georges Terrace is the perfect place to stop in for a coffee and kill that extra half hour in air conditioned surroundings! The staff are friendly and fast and will bring your drink down to your table. I usually order a breakfast tea, which comes in a good sized pot rather than a stupid little mug(one of my pet hates). I usually get at least four cups out of the pot, which I love as I am a massive tea drinker. To keep you occupied they have newspapers to read, free wi-fi access(not even a need to ask for a password at the counter — a massive plus), and WAtoday headlines on the flatscreen TV.
