So, this place gets as close to five stars of any place I have eaten at it recent history. I had been in Parramatta for over a week for work. I had already sampled many good eating establishments in the area. There is so many types of food to choose from. I finally just wanted a steak. Ray and Lou’s delivered and then some. This place is situated on Church Street among all the other restaurants. it is pretty small but it has the coverred, heated outdoor seating like the other places. I sat outside and ordered a house Shiraz. It was fun to sit outside and people watch. The wine was very good, I typical Australian wine but you can’t get it in the states. I ordered the New York steak with potatoes and salad. They have a selection of four sides of which you get to choose two. The meal came out and the meat was cooked just the way I ordered. Th potatoes were well seasoned and the salad was still cold. Thhis was a very good meal. The portions were not large but they were not small. Don’t be starving and expect to be over full when you leave. The portions are perfect and allow you to try some of their excellent desserts. The waitress did point out the items that are made in house, one of which was the crème brûlée. I had to try it. Wow, it was fantastic. It was also the perfect size. Prices are about average for the area. Not overly expensive but not cheap. Service was what seems to be typical Australian, not overly fast. That said i think there was only one waitress for the entire place, so I think she did well. There are other items on the menu besides steak but i didn’t see anything else come out besides steak. It all smelled and looke really good, So, if you ever find yourself in Parramatta and have a taste for a good steak, give Ray and Lou’s a try.
