Small Talk is small in size but delivers big and it definitely serves up the best cup of coffee in Paddington. Probably safe say one of the best in Brisbane.
This little place is tucked away just off the main drag in Paddington and is more than worth the detour. The staff are always friendly and know their way around a coffee machine.
While they do have a little bit of seating inside there’s not a huge amount of room so just bring your favourite friend. There is a bit of food on offer which changes day to day but is always fresh and tasty but food is really not the focus so if you’re looking for a feed maybe circle back for takeaway coffees after.

In an effort to work away from home, Small Talk Espresso had me at «Free Wi-​Fi». What I didn’t expect was the friendly atmosphere this café in a former bank vault would give me. The owner, sitting alongside me, laptop up, became my work buddy for the morning and poured two great coffees.
Speaking of coffees. Their blend is Bellisimo and made just for Small Talk. There’s a few food items available (Raisin toast, rice paper rolls, and as of today, steamed pork buns).
They’ve even got a charge station at the back of the café for iDevices and phones.
Yep. This space might be small but they make it work. A great hidey-​hole away from the main Paddington hustle and bustle.
