The service is friendly, the prices very reasonable and the burgers are amazing. All fresh and home made with crunchy salad and hunks of avocado. Admittedly it doesn’t look much from the outside but don’t dismiss it, pop on in!

Despite the fact that this place is always busy, I just couldn’t get past the yellow and purple signage and the fact that it’s called ‘Schmooze’. Seriously, I’m far to hip to cross the threshold of somewhere with such a cheesy name but caffeine addiction is a demon that doesn’t care for my snobbery. When the heart calls for morning fixes and it’s Labour Day, you find yourself not just over the threshold but deep in the shop, looking at the counter that tempts with hulking great slabs of veggie quiche and handing over the cash. I have to say the coffee is VERY drinkable. Sweet, nutty and creamy. A really good cup of buzz. I am yet to eat at this café but I’d like to gently disagree with the previous reviewer and say that the food looks homemade and the plates that serve the constant stream of munchers every time I am there looks delicious and fresh. The menu board is very reasonably priced and it’s only a matter of time before we’re there for a full meal I think. If you’re at a loose end in Northbridge and looking for a venue, you could easily do much worse than ‘Schmooze’.

Schmooze was once Lind — a charming, family-run place that made strawberry smoothies I’d salivate at the thought of on the way home from school. A while back it was turned into one of those cafés where everything is good quality, but just has that external supplier, mass-produced kind of taste. Service is always very friendly and the coffee passable. If you come here for anything, it should be to catch the morning sunlight that bathes the tables out the front — a scarce commodity on Sailors Bay Road where other cafés sit on the opposite, darker side of the main street.
