I really hope this place survives the upcoming museum redevelopment because it’s such a gem. The iced coffee I brought there was refreshing and reasonably priced. There was also a decent range of food available. I absolutely loved the café’s design. The beautifully put together retro décor, furniture and art is amazing. The café is spread throughout multiple rooms of what I’m guessing was once a house so there’s plenty of quiet spaces with comfy chairs to relax in. There’s also a lovely outdoor dining area in the museum gardens. I’ll definitely be coming back if it’s still open next time I’m in Perth.

If you can escape the school holidays and the pensioners, the muse café is a city oasis. Love: Tranquil location and mix match, vintage/retro décor Lush green vegetation Darkstar Jasper Blend coffee from Fremantle packs a strong punch $ 4.50 for 2 shots Dislike: Slow service High prices and value for money.- a petit four Brownie which was practically a bite, cost me $ 3 and was hoovered up well before coffee arrived. Outrageous cream surcharge of a $ 1for cake I can almost swallow the high prices and relaxed service for the amazing atmosphere.

Ooh hidden treasure! Ok Unilocalers. Let me expose to you this little nugget of divine-ness. Nestled behind the museum building in Northbridge’s cultural centre is Muse; a delightful café with a gorgeous comfortable yesteryear fitout, encircled with historic buildings and lovely gardens. I had a yummy baguettes filled with tasty roasted Mediterranean vegetables, that came served with a nice fresh salad which certainly pleased me given the $ 12 price tag. The service was good and the tunes quite worldly. I loved the unique and calm atmosphere of this place, so I’m giving this place two thumbs up.

After we had our education session on obtaining that perfect afterlife, we made our way to the Muse Café situated behind the main museum entrance. Muse Café is offering Egyptian Style High Tea. They decked out the room into a very Egypt theme with posters, camels and ancient Egypt themed chess pieces. They offer 3 sessions for the high tea at 11am-12:30pm, 1:00pm-2:30pm, 3:00pm-4:00pm. The cost of the high tea is reasonable as it includes the tickets to the exhibition($ 65 or $ 75 if you want a cocktail along with the high tea). The Muse Café also offered a variety of different high tea menus to suit people’s dietary requirements, which I think is brilliant! I’m so glad they take allergies and food intolerance very seriously. They have a vegetarian, nut free, gluten free, and low risk pregnancy menus. they also do coffee, but their range of teas is pretty impressive, there is about 10 – 15 different types of teas and they come in proper«made-to-share» teapots which can be topped up or if you are sick of the tea you are trying they will just swap over the pot for you. We ended up trying cinnamon and orange tea, pomegranate green tea and rooibos tea. The teapots are ultra cute too, most likely sourced from many an antique shop or vintage markets. I love it. The Muse café is a lovely place with a massive outdoor area. It’s perfect for the warmer climates. But even in winter and with the rain the indoor area is so cosy and warm it’s just the perfect place to hide away. I love how they do their teas in large pots and with such a variety of selection. The service is lovely and as attentive as possible, and I love how they cater for dietary requirements and allergies. More places in Perth needs to take that up. It’s definitely one to go to especially if there is an exhibition on at the Museum and they have themed their high tea accordingly. Why not have a day out? Go see the Egyptian Exhibition(on until 22nd September) and have the high tea as well(as a lunch perhaps?).

First thing I love about The Muse is the location — in the back courtyard of the WA Museum. Second thing is the garden area — so pretty and a haven from the hustle and bustle(except when there are too many kids there). I have been at least half a dozen times with my Mum on our regular Saturday city excursions. They do a decent coffee and the few times we have eaten there as well, it’s been very enjoyable.

Did someone say secret inner city retro oasis? Uh yeah I did, and it’s Muse Café! Underneath the trees, the garden area is nice and shady, with lots of mismatched vintage furniture scattered around. Inside vintage record sleeves line the walls, with even more cute mismatched furniture to plonk yourself down on. It reminds me a bit of Moore & Moore in Freo. In terms of food, they have a few things in the cabinet to pick from and a black board menu too. Sandwiches, salads, pastries and quesadillas mostly. My Thai salad was large and tasty, I wasn’t too keen on the quesadillas though. They’re currently doing a gorgeous high tea for the Unveiled exhibition, I checked out the tea room — very cute! With access to the free Cultural Centre Wifi, I am going to make this pretty place one of my Northbridge workspaces from now on!
