History

Established in 1994.

Borruso’s Pizza & Pasta began as a tiny little take away shop in the suburbs of Cape Town in 1994. This grew into two large and very busy restaurants that are still crazy-​busy today.

When Borruso’s founders Oscar, Jamie and Robyn moved to Australia, the cycle began again — a tiny little takeaway shop in Northbridge, a suburb of Sydney that has grown into a busy local restaurant.

These guys have got the goods! Great little family style restaurant with awesome wood fired pizza and a few basic, but rock solid pasta dishes.
I have had takeaway and dined in here many times and have never been disappointed. The one time they messed up our order (which meant one pizza’s had to be remade), the manager shouted all four of us dessert.
Borrusos focus on consistently getting the basics right. And because of that they have committed, long term customers. And I am very happy to be one of them.

These guys are the real deal — wood fired, thin crispy bases, great toppings in all manner of combinations.
The wood fired flavour is hard to beat, and Borruso’s have it down to a T.
The restaurant is a bit unprepossessing — stuck in the corner of a little off-​street shopping strip with a deli on one side and a law firm on the other — hopefully a co-​incidence!
All dark wood type of interior with a couple of different rooms to eat in. If you didn’t know it was three it would be easy to miss, and perhaps that is part of the charm — it is kind of a locals-​only haunt, and fortunately for me I am local and get delivery from these guys fairly regularly, and eat-​in now and then.
They also do a good sideline in corporate team events — get the crew together and learn how to make pizzas, including the pizza dough and bases — something a bit different, and always a lot of fun to combine teams, food and wine.
