New to the area we stumbled on this gem for a weekend breakfast. service was very good, breakfast was a decent serving and the coffee was strong. Plenty of outdoor seating with awnings to protect you from the elements. not ideal in bad weather but failing that I’d happily return.

Bonds Corner has the best coffee north of the Harbour, and the food is superb. Alan, the owner, takes great pride in people enjoying the food whilst relaxing or having an informal business meeting. Food is excellent, and is my favourite hangout for a quick lunch away from the hustle and bustle of the business areas of the suburbs.

Bond’s Corner is pretty much the only café servicing the waterside end of Northbridge, typically frequented by local housewives, their toddlers and lookalike lap dogs. Service is friendly — it’s a family-run business and pretty much every time I go I see the same handful of faces making the coffee and clearing up plates. They even give you a dog bowl for thirsty pups. The coffee is consistently good and while they’re only open until the early afternoon for breakfast, brunch and lunch, they do have a solid selection of home-cooked meals on offer ready to take home, re-heat and impress the fam with — my fave’s the giant chicken schnitzel which you can usually have boxed up with some roast veggies or a salad on the side. And there’s a boutique wine store next door — convenient!
