Terrible. Ran out of half of the menu, were inflexible about the rest, manager said«that’s just our policy». Bar man couldn’t care if we ate or not. I will never recommend this place to anyone

It can be a loud and noisy crowd on the weekends, so be sure to be assertive if you are looking to secure a table. The menu looks great. All of your pseudo US of A food staples covered. Certainly worth a go. American fashioned servings in ample size with a very Fitzroy esq(clearly from Melbs here) vibe. My quesadilla was ample. Pulled pork avocado, pulled pork, black beans and the lot. It was very, very tasty. Not the real deal(usually the number of ingredients are less and are contained within instead of outside the quesadilla), but hey the flava was brilliant so am not complaining! Pleasant staff, pleasant place. True local New Town flava

Three words — «The Luther Burger» — Bacon cheeseburger served on maple glazed donut. Insanity. Total insanity. Really great place, with excellent foods and drinks. Also happens to be where you can find The Luther Burger.

A relative new comer but got off to a lightening start. Great range of local and imported craft beer and a cheeseburger that is hard to beat. Good value right across the board. Live music graces the cosy stage and dance floor a few nights a week. Atmosphere is as good as you’ll find, laid back, no rush, no fuss. Love it.

The Winston is somewhere you’d be chuffed to call your local, and so I do(despite there being two other pubs between my place and there). An amazing beer and cider list is complemented by a killer food menu(with great prices). Think the messiest burgers you’ve ever eaten, sloppy and juicy(like all over your hands juicy) and crazy delicious. There are some slightly weirder things on the menu, like the oyster po boy, but I’m honestly 100% content with the classic: their cheeseburger. The Winston’s cheeseburger takes me to heaven, mostly so when it’s just that bit rare in the middle and I’m going one for one mouthful of burger, mouthful of crunchy shoestring fries. Order at the bar and then wash that order down with a pint of whatever keg they’re currently tapping, but don’t get too attached, because these flavours change on the regular.

Came for the beer, stayed for the food. Fantastic burger and chilli cheese fries. Surprisingly high standard meal from an otherwise unassuming little corner pub. Atmosphere was warm and inviting with a noise level typical for an inner city pub.

The Winston sits inside the old Eaglehawk Neck Inn at the top end of North Hobart and is one of the newest additions to the North Hobart strip. I dropped in here on a Friday night to test the waters having heard they were doing some tasty American-style pub food and was not disappointed. The décor hasn’t changed much from the previous pub(the Alleycat), but it was cleaner(my feet didn’t stick to the floor!). However, everything else is a great leap forward; the beer selection is great, the staff are really friendly and the food is TASTY! Let’s focus on the food a little more; chilli cheese fries, buffalo wings, burgers, tacos, pulled pork… mmmmmmmmm. The chilli cheese fries were good, but the buffalo wings were AMAZING. They are deep fried which is a little different, but the hot sauce is really tasty not super hot, but yum) and the home-made blue cheese sauce is fantastic(and I do not like blue cheese). Moving on, the burgers were really good with one exception — two of our group ordered the special, a buffalo burger, which was really good but one of the burgers ended up swimming in sauce. Otherwise everyone was really happy with their meals. This place could quickly become my new Friday local!
