Dean’s is your OG milk bar style of burger and they do it very well, probably one of the best that I can think of in Sydney.
I guess my favourite is the super deluxe triple OG «fantasy burger» which comes with lettuce, tomato, fried onion and cheese. I often add bacon also.
Anyways it’s an almost perfect burger and under $ 10, also their thick cut fries come in very generous portions (obviously ask for chicken salt)

Honestly, I have nfi why the Sando — pardon me, the Newtown Social Club — didn’t just enter into an understanding with Dean’s (like certain Redfern bars have with a certain Chinese restaurant) to allow punters to order in meals instead of making their own bistro or whatever. It’s like, right next door! And it’s open ’til all hours. And if you want an old school burger and chips (and we all do, right?) then this is the place. They even do halfway decent vege burgers! and if you want to mix it up a little the staff are super nice about it. The chips are tops, with or without (with!) chicken salt. Prices are reasonable. The only bummer is that the seating is really exposed (even the inside tables) so in winter you will freeze your bits off.

By some bizarre twist of fate, I ate at Dean’s with Julie L., the only other reviewer for the venue, 2+ years ago.
And my feedback is equally as gushing. Dean’s is what your local hot chip shop should be. No pretension, no nasty asides, only not-​too-​deep fried chips and a vegetarian burger that will leave you gagging for more.
Always, ALWAYS ask for the chilli. I didn’t, and I regretted it.
The oil is clean, the staff are friendly, the seats are comfortable enough and the tunes are rockin’. (Apologies to anybody who had to listen to a half-​liquored rendition of INXS’ greatest hits in the front seats of Dean’s last Sunday night).
Be warned: Cash only! I’ve been stung!
Dean’s is worth travelling to the inner west for, so I WILL be repeat offending Newtown with my off key singing and appetite for more simple, clean and affordable take away.

Great food, rockin’ tunes and pacman, open late, super fast service, groovy staff. Someone else make that a haiku cause I can’t be arsed. I CAN be arsed penning this review while booze friends and bands await me and that’s because dean’s is AWESOME.
The late night, no frills diner is a muso’s hangout due to its proximity to the sando next door & relatively healthy food (burgers). Any given night you may see members of AC/​DC, The Hardons or You Am I chowing down on a musically titled burger like my fav the vego Cat Stevens (haloumi); the Harlem Shuffle, etc.
At 8 bucks a pop and no question about freshness or dodgy ingredients, Deans is a delicious winner!
