I used to pass this place all the time, but for whatever reason never stopped in for a meal. This place is great! It’s always packed, the staff are friendly and juggle the tables well. Not sure why it took me so long to try their fare, but the menu is broad, the portions are large and the coffee may be the best I’ve had in the city. I went for the scrambled eggs, and picked off a few pieces of my companion’s brisket burger and beer battered fries. Just delightful!

We love eggs! They are high in protein and they can be enjoyed in so many versatile and delicious ways. Vue Lounge is serving a mean plate of Pumpkin and Parmesan fritters with 62 degrees eggs that is hard to resist! A shimmering silky orb of egg white surrounding a rich, golden liquid flow of egg yolk. The slow-cooked eggs are perched atop the fritters and paired with crispy pancetta, fried cabbage and decorated with tomato béarnaise. For those who would like a little bit more pork on their fork– the pork belly is definitely a crowd pleaser. A hunk of gorgeous fatty pork belly pig with caramelised crispy skin that melts in your mouth. Topped with two beautifully poached eggs egg with runny yolk that flows over the bed of wilted spinach and completely coat the sourdough below! Absolutely well executed dish!

Great staff and even better food and coffee, Vue is the type of place that you can kind of place you can keep going back to over and over and it never gets old. An ever changing menu keeps it interesting and they keep the old favourites… Places in New Farm come and go quicker then you can bat an eyelid but you simply can’t go past Vue for great food, coffee and people watching.

Best coffee ever! I can’t write enough about the coffee! Love the food, especially the scrambled eggs, duck spring rolls and the MUFFINS! Staff are really friendly!

I really like Vue. Consistently good food, coffee and service. Heaps of seating so you don’t really have to worry about not getting a seat or waiting too long for a table on weekends like many other places in Brisbane. The food is always awesome! Love the scrambled eggs with the crossaint. Definitely my favourite. About $ 60+ for breakfast and coffee for 2 people which is a bit more than I like to spend so I only visit occasionally, but it is definitely worth the price tag :)

It’s a reliable favourite of ours, you can always count on a great coffee made with Di Bella beans. Service is usually consistent, friendly and prompt. Food is always value for money. Decent portions and well presented. It’s been banging out value for money for years. Sometimes better, sometimes fantastic. But overall it consistently reliable.

Surprisingly delicious coffee! I’m a bit sceptical of good coffee at Merthyr Village but we popped in here for a takeaway this morning — amazing! Di Bella coffee, rich, strong, great use of the soy. So happy. Definitely considering heading back for breaky — the man tried it recently and said it was v tasty…

Vue has moved it’s menu from an Italian to a burger focus, which shouldn’t necessarily mean southward bound service… but in this case, it has. This was not the Vue we have visited before. The service was chaotic and slow, the wine offerings limited in range and quality. We had the trio of dips, which in fairness was tasty. But we did have to watch it sit on the servery for some time while the waitress and the chef debated the previous order. Hoping for more, given the location and previous experience.

Vue is my go-to place to meet a friend anytime of the day, go out to dinner with people you know well, or to drop by for a take away cup of super tasty brew. It is for me, the essence of all that is New Farm in a café. The service here is 5 star, the patrons are usually locals well versed in the quality of the dishes here or new fans brought here by word of mouth it’s that good. It is a well-oiled machine servicing the tums of all us hungry locals. Wear your hipster best or turn up casual with your dog and kids. It is popular so breaky can be a crush for tables but they clear quickly as people come and go, and there are lots of spots to choose from in and outside. And after having a breakfast to be photographed there this morning with a friend, I must duly report: They also have a brand new menu! But have kept some favourites like their legen-dary brioche French toast dish — yes I said it — brioche(prepare to feel bigger than when you came in!). So whether you’re after a frappé, something from the bean, or beers and wines you will be able to match it to some fantastic food served up daily from these experts at local satisfaction. I’ve had many a great time here, hope you do too.

I almost feel like giving myself a full 5 stars for scouting out a seat in this place for breakfast — it’s basically heaving with what feels like the whole of New Farm on a Sunday mid-morning. Always wary of a busy breakfast café(not because of the huge amounts of people; that’s always a good sign) due to their ability to maintain standards of everything from frothed milk through to the perfectly poached eggs. When the food and coffees arrived(surprisingly faster than I’d envisioned, especially as new tables were popping up everywhere), my preconceptions rapidly evaporated. These chefs and baristas were pros, clearly they’d handled one or two busy days in the past(ahem, try every day). The poached eggs with beetroot relish and tomatoes on sourdough bread were absolutely divine(and the sourdough was perfectly toasted — not ridiculously hard to cut into). As for the coffees — they make a strong, well-rounded long black and a well-balanced mocha(perfect chocolate-to-coffee ratio). Definitely one of my top brunch spots. Oh, and for all of you sleepers in; it serves breaky until 2:30pm.

The Vue Lounge is a nice place to catch your breath while shopping up a storm in the New Farm precinct. It’s corner location and big wide windows makes for an idyllic café atmosphere. It’s airy, light, contemporary and not obnoxious like other cafes in the area. They keep it real and make it a really easy going place for its patrons. There are plenty of seats inside the café and there are a number of tables lining the outer rim of the establishment. I love the selection of focaccia’s they serve, in particular the turkey focaccia toasted, is brilliant. So much flavour and freshness makes this one of my favourite places to have lunch in New Farm.

If you’re in the Merthyr road area, there are so many places to eat that it can be hard to discern which places are great and which aren’t. Vue is definitely an inviting option due to it’s large number of tables(so you’ll be able to get one), choice between indoor, outdoor, and semi-outdoor dining areas, and wide street frontage perfect for people-watching. Truthfully, Vue is neither great nor poor. It’s perfectly acceptable for a reasonably priced meal and the food is of a good but not amazing standard. The pizzas are probably one of their better meals. The service is usually pretty fast and friendly, too, which can go a long way in the bustle of New Farm. The fact that Vue’s food falls in the average range of eating spots around is easy to overlook when they have such a great spot and nice ambience. If you get a spot on the concrete bench out the front and order a pizza and a glass of house wine, you’ll be set for a perfectly enjoyable evening.

I recently returned to Vue after a long absence. I’ve always found the breakfasts there to be pretty good quality and it’s a handy location just around the corner from Coles and a heap of boutique stores. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the breakfast menu is now far more extensive than on my last visit. The meals were a bit slow to come out, mainly due to the large influx of customers on their way to or from doing some last minute Christmas shopping. The staff were apologetic and friendly and more than made up for the wait. My breakfast burrito was a bit cheese-heavy, but the relish accompanying it was great. My companion’s French toast was a winner, although the serving size was big to the point of ridicule. Overall, it was good to see Vue as popular as ever and still doing a great breakfast.

In an area synonymous with amazing Breakfasts I have found that although the service is up to par and the atmosphere quite relaxing the morning food just doesn’t keep me wanting to return. Unless of course you are ordering the breakfast bagel or any of their speciality beverages(especially the indulgent chocolate shake) I have found many better places less than 1 km away.

Vue does some good food, but it’s not the best in area. What Vue does have is location and good staff. On a busy Saturday morning where you’ll have to wait 45 minutes elsewhere you’ll get a table pretty quickly here, and your breakfast won’t take another hour to arrive. Some of the breakfast dishes are a cut above normal, particularly the eggs with beetroot relish. Keep an eye on the specials board as I’ve often been tempted to stray from my eggs benedict for a tasty invention. If you want good coffee, a decent breakfast and you don’t want to wait an hour then Vue is probably for you.

I got lost going into Vue for the first time; not only because it has a charming little outdoor seating area, but because it also has an indoor area AND a hybrid area of the two. So I walked through to the indoor area and was first struck by one of their walls. Ever seen Get Him to the Greek? Familiar with the concept of the furry wall? Well at Vue, it exists; it actually exists. They have a carpeted wall with this funky design and the décor and colours of the place just remind me of coffee. Everything is black or brown or mocha and reflects a cool, trendy, and vibrant atmosphere. If coffee could take on a tangible décor form, this would be it. Putting aside the furnishing and décor for a second, the food itself was wonderful. I started off with garlic pizza and it had a real kick with a great burst of fresh flavour. The staff were also very attentive and cleared away plates as soon as we were done, always asking if we had enjoyed our courses. Essentially, I felt like I was being looked after, and it was nice. Merthyr Road is a really great and lively strip and Vue takes the cake in a really classy way. I recommend it for an intimate dinner with a fresh twist. Boys, you’ll also be very pleased to know that Vue serves a great range of boutique beer, so you’re all set.
