Love going here because all their fruits and vegetables are so fresh. You can also buy other things like drinks and cut meats too. Limes is my go to store for fresh produce whenever I’m visiting the area(quite regularly). Great place :)

Limes is one of my favourite place to get fruits and vegetables from especially since I found their Asian vegs’ quality is better compared to other supermarket. Sometimes they stocked exotic fruits as well such as the hard to found rambutan. Of course the price can’t be compared to the country of origin :-). I like how Limes stock some of the Methods cleaning liquid and handwash. They also sell some drinks that Coles/Woolworths don’t sell such as the 8Bar Iced Coffee drinks. Limes is conveniently located close to some eateries and in the same complex as Kailis fish and Scarfo butcher.

Limes is a fantastic place to shop for fresh fruit and veg. Not only are they conveniently located to one of my favourite restaurants, they also share the building with a bakery, a butcher, a seafood monger and have their own fresh deli section. Be prepared to pay more then average prices for your fruit and veg here… But you get what you pay for. Your fruit won’t sour and your veg won’t be wilted after a day or two. The quality is supreme and definitely worth paying the extra. Be prepare to see all of their yummy packaged extra lollies and chocolates. But check the price first so you don’t get mad at the bill when you get to the counter ;)

I’m a sucker when it comes to fresh fruit and veggies and Limes is very special to me. They have not lost the old grocer values of letting customers«try-before-you-buy» by offering samples and small wedges of apples, mandarins, peaches, and persimmons. Too often I have been caught out by a supposedly good-looking fruit, only to get home and sample what amounts to a battery acid attack! Two corridors or rows of colourful fruit and vegetables are on offer that stretch full length of Limes with platters on offer too for the lazy. Exotic things like kale trees are eye-catching, as are the three or four choices of dates(both for cooking and eating). The deli section looks absolutely amazing, with hot and cold food, although I didn’t try anything there this time. But come to mumma, you ain’t seen nothing yet until you reach the racks of chocolate and biscuits. If you’re an ex-Pom, you won’t want to miss the Jaffa Cakes, Caramel Waffers or the Tunnocks Tea Cakes! Other selections include more tubs of jelly beans, pop corns and nuts that are designed to prise more money out of your before you hit the till… and yes… you will be paying slightly more quality here, but who cares, it is worth it. Nestled in the same building you can also find a Kailis Brothers seafood stand with a small selection of fish(run by a very grumpy old fishmonger) and the amazing Scarfo’s Butcher(run by a huge crew of really nice and fun guys). I’ll review these later.

It’s local, there’s a great range of fresh produce and gourmet products and while it’s not as cheap as Coles woolies or even your local iga, it is still value for money for that gourmet experience. I wouldn’t shop only here, but as an adjunct to my usual weekly shop, I’m happy with its range.

Limes is an upscale grocer(in Bunnings parking lot) with the price to follow. I’m not quite sure what separates Limes from other grocery stores. The store in size is quite small but the produce has the largest allocated section. If you are looking for dry goods, be prepared to pay more than what you would at an IGA and at smaller quantities/sizes. I happened to be trying to restock my baking needs and was so appalled at the pricing, that I went to Coles later on. I could get twice as much for the price they were charging. I did find a few specialty items and was quite excited about it until checking out at the cash register. I found spaghetti squash at $ 7 a kilo! I was thrilled but can’t validate spending $ 20 on squash when a pack of noodles is $ 2. I guess I haven’t reached the über-healthy stage to validate the cost but, dang… I miss that squash in my diet! Limes does seem to be growing/changing inside, as there is a fish counter and deli counter that is under construction. Limes, while not in the most convenient area, it is great if you live/work in Myaree and are looking for fresh produce outside of the major chains and want to spend a surplus. I have to give a shout-out to the Asian-owned markets… not sure how they do it, but the savings is incredible.

Limes is a sprawling gourmet supermarket that offers a range of speciality food items, fresh fruit and vegetables, and winning deli treats. They do great antipasto rolls — one of few places left that actually lets you choose your fillings(chicken, eggplant, capsicum, lettuce and olives in a crusty roll makes my day). Heaps of pre-packaged salads, nuts and sweets, and a beautiful range of dairy times, this is certainly one of the bigger and better supermarkets of its kind south of the river. Actually it’s the biggest I’ve found to date. Massive sad face for some of the prices though, I paid six bucks for a third of a watermelon the other day which made me feel pretty glum(they’re still in season too). Limes shares a big space with a butcher, a baker and a fresh seafood market(which does an awesome seafood chowder in the colder months).
