Now this was going to be a 4 star due to the staff not advising on ordering rice with meal. Great judgement on their part. No rice needed! I was dead against ever going on holiday in Bali but after trying this Indonesian food, I’m sold on going their just for the food. Meals were reasonably priced, took a little longer than usual to come out but hey, you know they’re not using a microwave. Honestly the flavors were absolutely amazing. The portion sizes were not over excess but you definitely feel full after. Don’t be deceived or your stomach will pay for it. One thing I can say is definitely book a table as this place is pretty busy on the weekends. They only have 1 walk in table for patrons as seeing some people asking for a table just to be being turned away sad and dejected. The place is byo(big tick). The menu also gluten free/vegan friendly options available. Would I go again? Hell yeah!

I really wanted to like this place more but unfortunately they recieve my dreaded 2 stars. Why? 1) Service — they were super understaffed. We had to keep on flagging them down for taking orders and paying the bill which was pretty annoying. Eventually somebody had to leave their seat and interrupt because we weren’t getting any service. 2) serving sizes are pretty small, the food is tasty but portion sizes were too small! 3) they got our orders wrong. I guess it was kinda confusing with 3 nasi gorengs — 1 spicy with an egg, 1 spicy with no egg and non-spicy with an egg. But if I’m going to pay for my dinner I don’t want to be stuck with a spicy meal or be the jerk who has to send it back after waiting ages in the first place. It is a pity but I won’t be returning to Monggo because of these 3 reasons.

had the degustation with a voucher. the servings are small, but nicely decorated. food is nice, but the seasoning for the degustation is too similar across the dishes. won’t come again.

Delicious authentic Indonesian food in a nice setting that isn’t pretentious. I got the vegan stir fry with a delicious coconut and citrus sauce. The service was good and they are also byo. I will be keeping this in mind when looking for a place to go for dinner before heading to the Scotto or a place for uncomplicated take away for one.
