Love this store! SO many vases, glass jars and trinkets. Lots of scarves, candles, hand creams. So many home ware delights. Heaps of unique christmas decorations too. Picked up a couple of presents for friends there yesterday and ended up buying a vase myself as I just could not go home without it. A fantastic place to buy gifts for women, or those who appreciate interior design. The staff were lovely to deal with and there is free gift wrapping — bonus!

There are some gift stores that allude to exclusivity in their wares but I’ve often caught them out. Like Baker & Shuhandler in Mt Lawley selling bookends and storage boxes at very ex-y prices when I’ve seen the same products in Thingz for cheaper, but Antedote pretty much stocks exclusive stuff. And wonderful, unimportant but definitely pretty stuff it is. There are storage boxes of all kinds, pillows and cushions, paper lanterns, picture frames, vases, and so on and so on. I’m guessing most of it is important but it would be nice if there was a section dedicated to local artisanary. Still, if you need an andedote to get you out of a slump, drop into this place, browse around for a while, buy something even, and you ought to be perked up.

The first thing I noticed about Antedote Living was its ethnic and Arabic feel; the coloured glass lanterns, Moroccan leather poufs and beautifully decorated traditional tea glasses and then I carried on looking around and saw objects with an influence from other countries and cultures. I realised that this store has really beautifully and successfully encapsulated many different cultures and styles under one roof, in some cases this idea might turn into a junk shop but here it just simply works and makes it really unique. Some of my favourite items(and there were many!) would have to be their cute little ceramic owl ornaments with a cracking detail, the Frida Kahlo paintings and prints and of course because I’m a sucker for tea, the cutest and poshest tea cups ideal for an improvised high tea.

Perth has an abundance of gift and homeware stores these days. Not all are worthy of your time and money. This place is definitely worthy of your time, it is just a matter of if you have enough money. This shop is huge and full of gifts and homewares. Everywhere you look there is splashes of bright colours on cushions, clocks, vases, prints and more. They also have a big selection of kids toys and clothes for the little people in your life. It is not like the big chain store with lots of boring mass produced cutesy homewares. This store is full of quirky and unusual homewares from around the world. At the moment they have heaps of cushions and decorations from Morroco and Mexican. The staff are friendly and happy to help. The issue in this store is wanting more than you can afford to take home.

I have an aversion to home decorating, but Antedote Living makes me rethink my minimalistic ways. I’ve never really seen the point in buying an expensive tea pot, or hiding my bed under a plethora of throw cushions just because they’re emblazoned with the Eiffel Tower. But Antedote most recently caught my eye, because they stock a range of homewares that would actually make your abode look comfortable. I’m particularly digging the Moroccan/Mexican theme that seems to dominate most of the store. If you’re into tribal vases, bongo drums, Indian floor cushions or just like things that smell pretty(and this store smells delicious), then this is a good place to start. They even have quite a large selection of children’s items up the back. I should warn you though, the prices in this store aren’t exactly cheap. They do stock some nice jewellery though which isn’t too expensive. Great place for a gift for a friend you really, really feel like spending over $ 100 on.

There is a definite aura emanating from this shop door that screams into your subconscious. ‘Come in’ it says, ‘look around!’ As it continues to draw you in it will whisper ‘Look how pretty’, ‘Buy me, you don’t need me but seriously, how pretty?’. If you are strong willed and enjoy pretty things without feeling the need to puchase then definitely come in here for a browse. If not, come in anyway but don’t say I didn’t warn you,

Located in the Mt Hawthorne part of Scarborough Beach Road, Antedote Living is an artisan boutique full of home ware, jewellery, and all sorts of bibs and bobs. It’s the kind of shop you could enter at noon and be forced out at closing time. I had my eye on a few unique crosses that were painted in traditionally Mexican patterns, but boy were they pricey. In fact, everything was pricey(or maybe I’m a stingy student). Definitely a place for the middle to upper-middle class buyer…

Really cute homewares shop in Mt Hawthorn! There is so much stuff there I couldn’t describe to you in one word what I love the most. Baby stuff, Greek stuff, clothes stuff, jewellery stuff, arty stuff. SOMUCHSTUFF. I honestly could spend hours searching through all the stuff they have. Honestly, I have been to some nifty shops in my life but this is definitively the coolest and most expansive range of stuff that has been jam packed in to one store. It’s further down the way from the main shopping area in Mt Hawthorn but it’s totally worth the little stroll down to the corner shop.
