The Ladder Café & Deli Mount Hawthorn, Perth Sep 17, 2014 POSITIVE
Not that bad. I had a decent veggie breakfast. Coffee was also spot on, as was the juice I ordered. The ingredients were quite plain and the bread felt a bit like tip top. I think it could use a lot of improving the but the staff were extremely friendly and it has a great ambience with it. A little pricy as well.

Quite a lovely café; it’s nice and airy and light inside. The Summer Spiced Bircher had all the required ingredients but it was very sweet. I’d recommend asking for your honey on the side. Also the«spiced» part was just cinnamon as far as I could tell. Not all that creative. I had hoped to do some work, but there’s not a single power outlet available. I can understand you don’t want people sitting behind laptop screens on a weekend when it’s no doubt busy, but during the week? My work ended when my battery died so I moved on to a different place for my second cuppa.

This little café has always delighted me. I love the fact that they have a court yard at the back and is dog friendly, even though I don’t have a dog… yet. I also love that they put blankets out on some chairs for customers who choose to sit out front in case if their cold(very thoughtful) but I love the menu more!!! As you walk in from the front you can’t help but admire a rustic yet elegant contemporary décor. Especially the beautiful framed pictures on one side of the wall. There is always the latest local papers out for customers to read and some magazines too, so your welcome to come by yourself(no company required, unless you want me… wink wink. Kidding!). I always feel welcomed with friendly smiles from staff and inviting food at the counter. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure to ask the staff member’s names but they are always friendly here. As you walk in, make sure to check out their seasonal menu as it is not always available all the time, always worth a try. In the counter cabinets there are savory delights and something for your sweet tooth too. It’s good that they divide the counter because I see it as «naughty or nice». You can be nice to your body by trying some of their salads or freshly made rolls or you can be extra cheeky and go straight for the cakes and slices. On some occasions I have seen«raw» health freak stuff, I’m adventurous with food but if your going to have a sweet treat why cover it up with health freak when you have the opportunity to go all out and gorge of delectable cakes… then work it off at a gym. I once stumbled here after a hard session at the gym and decided that I needed my protein intake for the day. I was fortunate enough to try one of their seasonal dishes which as the maple bacon, poached eggs on sour dough with a side salad. Basically, a fancy Canadian style bacon and eggs. the bacon was very crisp and lathered in real maple syrup that was just dripping all over the plate. Eggs were very lightly poached and runny(not literally) just the way I like it. The dish was brought together with fresh sour dough bread which I may have use to mop up my plate. Sometimes I can be the human dish washer if the elements of the dish is that good. On another occasion I came in a tried their Spanish baked eggs. This was made with a tomato, capsicum and onion based sauce in a oven proof dish with 2 eggs cracked on top and baked in the oven till cooked. Again, I became the human dish washer with my sour dough bread which I delightfully mopped up. My company had something healthy which was green and had grains in it, it was nice but my dish was better! Price wise, I feel that this little place is very reasonable for what they serve up and for the quality. I have never been disappointed(good food and good combination of food never disappoints!). For a little café on a busy strip and a new trendy area I think this place is well worth more than one visit.

I literally can’t even with this place. This is the place that makes hangovers and study all nighters a thing of the past. The setting is wonderfully modern and refurbished, the staff are all very professional and warm and their food is so on point. I mean I was taken aback when my partner and I got out dishes as we’d never seen brunch presented to beautifully. The ingredients they use are absolutely fresh and well-selected and their juice pitchers are to die for. Would come again. And again. …and again.

This is currently my go to place for breakfast. Great food and coffee. Decently priced too. $ 12 for eggs on toast and it comes with a side of amazing chutney type relish. they have a selection of bread to choose from too which is a bonus. Seeded sourdough is the bomb. The staff are always friendly which makes for a lovely dining experience.

A couple trips have delivered both a hit and a miss. Miss — takes a loooong time for food delivery. Hit — these guys sorted me out with a delicious bacon and egg sandwich to go(not on the menu) with no hesitation. Overall nothing special, good food but glaciers move faster than these guys…

Great little breakfast stop. Juices and smoothies all fresh and fruity. Date and walnut loaf was delicious! I also had the veggie scramble, with bacon. Very tasty and generous servings. Lovely sitting outside in a bit of sunshine, service was great. Friendly little place will definitely return.

Perfect spot to sit outside and watch the action on Scarborough Beach Rd. Service was great, and the drinks and meals came out really quickly. I ordered the granola in an attempt to try something new, it was okay. Everything was fresh and presented well but I’m just not a huge fan. My friends ordered the smashed avocado and veggie scramble and loved it! So would recommend it based on their feedback and the quality of staff and service. Don’t take bookings so get there early!

I’ve had this place bookmarked for months and I’m so happy that I got to finally try it out, and it was worth the wait! Cute little café on the Mt Hawthorn strip with nice outdoor seating which was perfect for today’s sunny morning. I started with a soy mocha, by bad but could’ve used more chocolate… The brekky was amazing, I ordered the avo smash — avocado, cherry tomato, feta on pesto and sourdough toast and a poached egg — HEAVEN. My girlfriend got the veggie scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and it looked again and she said it was great. We also got the Tropical Smoothie which was fresh and delicious and made with homemade frozen yoghurt. I have no complaints! They are quite small and don’t take reservations so get there early to get a seat and you won’t regret it. I’ll head back again to try the other stuff that looked great on the menu!

A very nice little place, well decorated, with both street-side tables and courtyard outdoor seating. They cater for gluten and dairy free, and the menu is full of fresh and healthy options which don’t compromise on taste. I had the avo-smash with a poached egg and the green day juice, couldn’t think of a nicer way to start the day.

Since it’s re-branding from Cultural Tastes mid June last year, the Ladder is full of light with soft pastels colours and a woody interior. It has super cute outdoor area which is perfect for long chats and brunch and street seating. Unfortunately I only stopped by for a takeaway skinny flat white which was rich and creamy. The coffee prices range from $ 4 for a small, $ 4.40 for a medium and $ 4.90 for a large triple shot. There is a range of muffins, bakes, salads and rolls on display as well as a detailed menu. I can’t wait to try one of their fresh salads and a coffee while enjoying the sunshine outside.

We had breakfast here this morning, first time we’ve been here and it’s a new favorite. It’s a pleasant casual café with seating both indoors and outdoors, we sat outdoors which made for a really nice morning! My boyfriend ordered the smashed avo, a glueten free dish of thick crunchy bread, avocado, oil, herbs and feta with some lightly roasted cherry tomatoes on the side– yum! I ordered the Bircher muesli– apple soaked muesli with vanilla strawberries and Greek yoghurt, needless to say it was delicious. Great coffee too, will def be going back!

The breakfast was well presented and very well prepared from clearly fresh ingredients. The menu is just unique enough to keep you interested in coming back and all the staff were fantastic. The long macchiato was very good. Great selection of unique baked goods, I’ll definitely be back for those! Décor is simple but he artwork covering one wall has plenty to entertain the eye. Slightly above average prices, but worth it in my opinion and highly recommended!
