Driving up I totally had the feeling my GPS was pulling a trick on me. But then, in the most unexpected spot, there finally is this nice looking café! Clearly more than a simple neighborhood café, despite its location. Our coffees were good, but the service was a letdown. A latte and flat white were literally plonked on our table, but which was which? Sure, both are coffee with milk, but it would have been nice if the coffee was ‘served’ rather than ‘dropped off’. An hour or so later, when ready to order lunch, we were told that the power had failed. Weird, as it was also labour day(the other stores in the strip remained open and had no power issues). It would have been appreciated if someone had at some point actually volunteered to tell us that no more orders could be taken and that what we thought was the noisy reorganization of tables & chairs for lunchtime was in fact cleanup-for-the-day [\cranky]

My mum and dad visit this corner café most days on their way home from the beach with Moto the dog(how nice is their life?!). The staff are friendly and welcoming to all three of them. I joined them recently and enjoyed a wonderful cappuccino — it was creamy and sweet yet still had the strong, bitter kick I like in a coffee. The parents arrived ahead of me and the barista had their usual(iced lattes, not too much ice) on their outside table before they even had time to go in and order. Next time I visit I’ll take note of the brand of coffee they use. Pastries and salads in the window looked good too.

We have recently moved to ‘the stepford wives’ area of mount claremont and this is a hidden gem many locals to the western suburbs dont know of or visit enough I have noticed since asking many if they go there. The food is delish with the food cabinet wafting a ‘eat everything in here’ vibe, the salads always looking fresh and mostly different to the norm at most trendy cafes. The menu board always has at least 3 things that take my eye and I highly reccommend the french toast, bacon, eggs, maple syrup I could probably eat this at any meal. Coffee is always hot, well flavored and prompt along with great staff service even offering to cook my beloved breakfast at other times. Now im down the road and even after I leave Mount Claremont I will return many times to here.

A very busy and rather large neighbourhood café in the western suburbs. Service is good, sometimes the staff are under the pump but they handle themselves really well, the café is a popular place. When most places close on public holidays or early over the weekends, Deli Chicchi is open. A great spot to sit outside in their alfresco area, dogs welcome. There is a small playground next door. Eftpos min is $ 10.00. Free parking. Food is cooked on the premises and there is a good selection of takeaway lunch and breakfast food, as well as cakes and slices. I often go past for a Saturday afternoon coffee or grab a morning takeaway one. Pharmacy, newsagent, post office, hairdresser, bakery and bottleshop are all in the Mt Claremont shops, perfect to knock off your errands.

Our family has been coming here for aaages and the quality of the food has remained constant. We can generally be found at one of the window tables on a Saturday morning eating our usual dishes. They have a variety of dishes to suit everyone as well as delicious baked items. The atmosphere is almost indescribable — everyone’s calm but so happy to be there. I love coming, and suspect that we will be regulars for a long time to come.

This has been my family’s favourite café ever since we were Mt Claremont locals years ago. It doesn’t seem to matter that we no longer live anywhere near it, Deli Chicchi always feels as warm and inviting as the lounge room of a favourite aunt or uncle. The selection of freshly made sweet and savory treats are delicious at any time of day, but perhaps the breakfast menu is the highlight. Changing seasonally, the options include sweet options like crepes and French toast as well as savoury breakfast wraps. Deli Chicchi is the kind of place that mums go with their grown-up kids and enjoy afternoon tea or a light lunch. The staff are very friendly and it’s nice to be able to watch them work in the kitchen, or look out the big bay windows, depending on the seat you choose. Hedging the tables is also a range of carefully chosen books and gifts, just in case you need a present to go on your way out. Set in the leafy, quiet streets of Mt Claremont, this is one of those unique gems that you hope not too many people find out about.

This corner café mainly services the well-heeled mums and groups of privileged teens that reside in the surrounding top-shelf river and beach-side homes. The menu is very close to that of Hobart Deli in North Perth and word around the campfire is that the two cafes are related. In the cabinet are seasonal salads, wraps and enticing bakes and cakes. From the kitchen is a range of interesting morning meals that will interest health conscious ladies and Give-me-my-bacon-lads alike. Faced with the tough choice of deciding what to order, take my tip and go for the Spanish omelet. Packed with spinach and feta(chorizo if you like too), and topped with balsamic soaked grape tomatoes and fresh roquette — it’s a good-looking, delicious dish. The funky, Asian barista is a master on the machine too.
