I stopped by here for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago & was pleasantly surprised! Light, bright & airy with a fit out fit for an inner city trendy brunch spot, South Society had heaps of great healthy options & they were totally accommodating of the fussy eaters I was dining with. The coffee wasn’t phenomenal, but the everyone loved their food. I had a breakfast salad which was delicious & tasted an avocado smash which was super tasty. It’s located on a really busy corner for traffic, but when we sat inside we barely noticed any noise at all which was great! Prices were slightly above average, the staff were super lovely & overall I was really happy with this cute little café in the burbs!

After 3 visits, it is time to write a review. This café is fairly new and is located on the corner of Blackburn Road right of the freeway at the Pinewood shopping village. If you live around the area, you will know this location is tough and the spot has undergone several changes throughout the past few years and never quite made it. With Glen Waverley becoming busier, it is natural for the overflow of people to move towards Pinewood and with café’s becoming«the thing» in Melbourne… South Society has taken the bull by the horns. Newly renovated with simple open plan full — wooden tables, dessert display and pot plants… With an all day menu from 7am, I have tried: Pumpkin linguini, red velvet pancakes(strawberries and chocolate drizzle) and the big breakfast(with a cheesy potato croquette). The food is on the pricier side however is in line with other hip places. The chai latte is always well brewed with actual tea and served a brown platter. The coffee always looks pretty and friends say it is an average coffee. I come here as there is always parking, the food is the same price as Glen Waverley Cafes and on par for quality. The food ranges from muesli — bacon and eggs — smashed ago — burger — pasta which caters for a variety of people I enjoy catching up with. Will be back for the convenice however the most recent visit I was a bit disappointed with the floors and tables not being well kept and food order taking some time.
