Bacino Kiosk

It is nice to have your coffee on the deck chair in the shade overlooking the water. The coffe is good. There are snacks available.

Twice in two days was pretty good for me, mind you this place has a monopoly on the location. Who cares?! This place is truly breathtaking in surrounds (Sydney Harbour National Park no less) and in food. Innovative food even, or should I use the churlish «Hipster» epithet? …maybe. Tomato bread is not my ideal bunch snack, served as it is around delicious spinach, bacon, chutney and egg (the breaky wrap they call it). Coffee was cold, although I absolutely forgive them as I was here during the International Fleet Review on Thursday (amid driving rain) and Friday (amid glorious sunshine) and it was quite busy. The locals were all wonderfully friendly, and I count it as a personal triumph whenever I can have an easy conversation with other patrons sitting near without it being «awkward» and here it wasn’t. So thumbs up for the food, and thumbs down for the coffee (but forgiven) and… well, the ambiance is unbelievable, and hands down is one of the most gorgeous places to relax and unwind in all of Sydney.

I have had very poor luck with many of the Bacino cafes in Sydney, but this one delivered the best of the lot. Having driven around Sydney all day I was really hoping to find a relaxing location with great coffee. The location certainly fit the bill.
Clifton Gardens (
) is a unique spot that in all rights should be more popular. I did go mid-​week so perhaps it is normally much busier, but any way you poke a stick at it, it deserves to be busy. The views are stunning, there are bush walking tracks available, and generally is just awesome.
As for the coffee, given that the café is little more than a hole in the wall, they do amazing. Sure there was too much milk froth, but on the whole, the coffee was very enjoyable. Having had so much average coffee of late, especially with cafes adding too much milk or over espressing the life out of the coffee, it is nice to be able to sit in a picturesque location like this and enjoy a good cup.
