Dolce & Salato is the pearl in the Oyster, located in Charlies Market you will be spoilt for choice as you select the most delectable Italian pastries. The custard treats are so mouthwatering that we have bought one and I have pretty much devoured it by the time I got to the car. We just had to turn the ignition of and go back in and buy some more treats. This really is the Dolce and Gabbanno of pastry, however I often chuckle to myself when I think of the models they would have to use, they certainly wouldn’t be wafer thin. This is a great place to treat yourself, make sure you are ready to really pig out when you come here, because you just cant say no.

Dolce & Salato have taken a little piece of Italy and moved it to the eastern suburbs of Perth. Hidden inside of Charlie’s market, many people are yet to discover the magic that is Dolce & Salato. This is not your normal patisserie. It has all the standards, plus the authentic italian treats. The cannoli here is worth the trip to Morley by itself, with the chocolate cannoli being the best I have ever tasted(and yes that includes my travels in Italy). If you have a sweet tooth check out their white chocolate baci bombs, which are divine. They also do Pizzza, but I am yet to try it. I come here for my sugar hit. The do a range of cakes and gelato, which are made fresh in store. The gelato is creamy and full of flavour, I recommend every flavour. As they say here, life is sweet.

Italian awesomeness. Genuine Italian awesomeness steeped in tradition. The three partners who run this business all grew up in the same seaside Italian town. I imagine this town to be pure loveliness, gastronomically and otherwise. And I’m very happy three talented bakers/entrepreneurs decided to emigrate to Australia and share Italian food love. As soon as you walk into this patisserie you will be able to sense Italia in the room. Words such as lemoncello liqueur, choux pastry and dark chocolate curls will excite and tantalise the senses. I think Italians’ skill and ingenuity with food comes from their love of celebrations. And, as far as I’m concerned, there is no food more skillful or ingenious than the Italian torta or cake. Luckily, some of these exquisite gastronomical sensations can be viewed on the Dolce and Salato website. I wish I could turn 21 again just so I could celebrate with the beautiful and striking contrast of dark chocolate, white icing and rich red strawberries. You’ll have to check out the website to see what I mean. The pizza here is great too, simple and fresh. Just like they serve it in Italy. Belissimo!

Let’s face it. Perth would be nothing without a thriving Italian community and all the rich and wonderful things the community had brought with it. One of the most amazing Italian contributions in Perth is Dolce & Salato. Only the best cakes, cold meats and ice-cream in Perth, I love the play on words/logo mimicking another great Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana. It’s so clever. It’s located in the heart of Morley right inside Charlie’s(which is another thriving Italian contribution) and is always busy, always full, always pumping, but always perfect. The pizza is amazing, and right at the very moment as I’m writing this my mouth is watering. Literally slobbering in excitement. I may have to go back tomorrow. See you guys there!
