Oh dear, looks like I have [another] favourite coffee shop. This is getting ridiculous. The number of coffee shops I’ve fallen in love with far exceeds the capacity of caffeine that my blood is capable of carrying around my body. Perhaps I should consider decaf? What a ludicrous thought. Anyway! This place is so wonderful, where should I begin? Let’s start with the staff. My barista was awesome. I was $ 1 short of the total bill($ 7.25 for a soy latte and almond croissant [drool!]) and he just said something along the lines of «give me whatever, save yourself the dollar». Then proceeded to have a chat to me and the other staff who were working for a while, then told me he’d bring the coffee and croissant out to me. Grabbing a paper, I took a seat at a large share table and watched as he greeted each customer by name and proceeded to have a massive chat to them all as well. When customers weren’t walking in(a rarity at this popular joint) the staff were laughing and joking around with one another. Don’t get me wrong, they take their jobs seriously, they just know how to have fun whilst doing it. So the place has a fantastic feel to it, and obviously to be a favourite of mine it has to have stand-out coffee. Which it does. Perfectly frothed soy milk is always a winner(and unfortunately, a rarity) in my books. It was beautifully strong and the croissant was wonderfully sweet and buttery — a perfect combination of flavours. Well worth hitting up for your next caffeine fix, or to find out what’s happening about town(it’s covered in regularly updated festival/band/gallery posters).
