Three Anchors

Located at one of Albany’s idyllic coastlines, the Three Anchors is a fine place to visit for food and drinks while enjoying the vista.

Not at all impressed with 3 anchors, after walking in and waiting 5 minutes to be acknowledged. finally we were seated. Service felt awkward :/​. We ordered two fish and chips which were very average quantity and quality also a kids Mac and cheese. There was literally 20 noodles in bowl with minimal cheese. My son is 10 not 2 and was not at all satisfied or full. I spoke to a staff member whilst paying and they said the chef decides portion size. Only positive to our experience was the view of the beach. Very let down as everywhere else we ate in Albany was of high standards. What a shame in a great location!

We have never been so disappointed in Three Anchors! To think earlier this year I gave them 5 stars. I cannot fault the location or the restaurant itself but What has happened to the level of service?!
For me, a restaurant’s service can be the difference in 5 stars or 1 star.
To keep it short, on our last visit for dinner, apart from waiting an hour for our mains, my partner ordered the $ 42 rib eye steak and ended up with a long piece of butchers twine through the meal. When we told the waitress at our table, all she said was ‘oh sorry about that I’ll tell the chef’. Nothing else was said. When we went to pay we mentioned the twine in food again saying it was unacceptable. After some umming & arrghing, the said they would give us our 3 beers for free. Well they didn’t, they just took off one soft drink. They just wanted us out the door. If that was my restaurant, we would have given the guests their meal for free & been more apologetic.
After vowing we wouldn’t be back, today we decided to have lunch as it was a beautiful sunny day in Albany.
Well our beautiful day ended with us walking out. We ordered a beef burger, fish&chips and 2 beers. We got our beers & that was it… After waiting for 1 hour and 20mins & watching other people around us get their food before us, we went to the counter to complain & asked them to cancel our order. The waitress/​manager just didn’t care & was sarcastic when she made us pay $ 18 for our 2 drinks.
Now we are never going to come back which is such a shame.

Stopped at this place after eating at Rats Tapas. Wanted something sweet and the waitress recommended this joint. Not to be disappointed.
Situated on the beach, nice views, also has a playground for the kiddos to enjoy and you are able to watch from your table.
Hipster place with indoor and outdoor seating.
Enjoyed the Eskimo bars and donuts. All homemade even the ice cream and u can tell the freshness in the ingredients.
We will need to go back for an actual meal next time. Great place!
