Delicious food. Great salmon burger and lots of different dipping sauces to choose from. Calamari is also superb. For the quality of food you get, the prices are great considering you’re in the CBD. Only $ 13 for a salmon burger with chips.

On the last day of my friend’s trip she was carving for some fish and chips and we asked some local friends and they suggested sea salt as we are in the city. It’s located in a small alley where a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants are located. It’s small nice and cosy and they have limited seats outdoors n indoors. We choose to sit outdoors as I wanted to enjoy the view of people walking by as I eat. We ordered 2 sushi rolls one was spicy beef and another is salmon shasimi with avocado. There is another with is tofu skin and brown rice sushi, these are all staters. The sushi rolls are awesome, the beef one is a little too spicy for my liking, the salmon ones are really fresh. For mains we ordered one fried fish and chips another is bread battered fish and chips that comes with potato cake and fried calamari rings. I like how the fish is fried, light and when you dip with the mayo sauce, it’s simply irresistible. I really love the fat fries in Melbourne compared to the thinner shoe string ones back in Malaysia. I don’t quite like the potato cake, it’s a bit too bland for me. Overall, food was awesome and I had a great time looking at people passing by:)

Like the fish&chips here and the sushi, always fresh. A little bit crowed, but it is OK. What do you expect from here, it is in the CBD, right?

The biggest sushis i’ve seen at a sushi take-away shop — price still the same though! so better value if you’re hungry. As for the grilled fish, salad, chips and calamari — I give it a double thumbs up. A very efficient shop for a fresh seafood lunch. I always leave this place with a satisfied belly.

As far as decently priced, fresh fish and chipper-ers go I’ve not had a poor meal from here. They’ll serve you up grilled fish with a garden salad and portioned rice for $ 16 which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. It’s also not going to bust fussy eaters regimes up. I’ve had one burger from here and that came in a fresh bun with a decent serve of battered fish. Good quality piece of fish and a decent mix up to the standard beef patty burger joints popping up like mad. Sushi is hit and miss and really isn’t their specialty. Better options within walking distance.

Suffering from a hangover some much needed fish and chips where in order. Yet being Southbank based its a complete desert for anything but pizza. Given the choice Hunky Dory in South Melbourne and Sea Salt it’s a hard call. Both offer your standard fishermans basket in single, couple or family pack. My take if you are up for a quick bit of lunch or takeaway, Sea Salt is the way to go. If your up for a relaxed atmosphere to eat in with your significant other Hunky Dory or some of the other inner city Fish and Chiperies is the way to go.

The first thing I saw was takeaway sushi in their display so at first I thought it was a sushi shop. When we walked by it looked like quite a casual place with a narrow entry. We were glad to see there were more seats inside. Had a nice lunch here with Hubby and our toddler. The place is a bit small but the staff were kid friendly. Hubby got the fish burger and chips. I got the crumbed Blue Eye with pumpkin quinoa spinach salad. Massive crumbed fish on top of a huge salad. One of the best lunches ever and good value for money. I think we spent $ 22 for food on the two of us? We were pretty full. My lunch was so good I wanted to come back the next day but thought we should try other spots.

Fresh fish is the speciality here, I’ve not had the sushi. Choose from breadcrumbed fish and chips to grilled fish fillets with a salad. They’ve also recently added beetroot salad as the fourth salad option. Ignore the fact this place is small, plainly decorated & in a tourist trap, the fish is fresh. Very good, very well priced, very friendly service.
