Best sashimi I’ve had in a long time! You pay a bit more but it’s top quality and you get a very good portion on each plate. I will even say that this place is better than Nobu… Plus I finally found uni in this city(as opposed to having it on the menu and then not having any available… I’m looking at you, Nobu) and I can’t be happier. Highly recommend the salmon belly, the soft shelled crab roll and the takoyaki. Service was prompt, courteous and just top notch. Love the ambience — any place that plays Miyazaki films while I enjoy sashimi is more than alright in my book.

Sakura Kaiten strikes again!!! Site 2 is bigger than the original site, comfortably seating more than eight groups of four(that’s amazing considering the original site only seats like… 10 ppl? haha) Variety on the Sushi Train is excellent and dining partner even thinks that it is priced slightly cheaper than the original? Don’t get me wrong, Sakura Kaiten is not cheap for a sushi train, but is one of the better quality freshness and variety. There”s certainly new things here that I hadn’t seen before(soybean sheet sushi roll?). Make sure to try the Cawan Mushi(Japanese savoury steamed egg), Scampi and salmon belly. This is definitely a benchmark sushi train in Melbourne!
