Had good expectations about this place. They’re claiming they have the best fries in the free world. Although the fries were indeed very crunchy and hot. They were overly salted which made them painful to eat in the long run. Couldn’t get halfways before it was too much. Also they’re saying that their burgers are cooked to medium, with a red centre. I was thinking YES! Finally a takeaway or anyone doing it in Melbourne cbd. But now. The pattie was as overcooked as the one at maccas. Grey all the way. All though the flavour was pleasant. When you can’t deliver on what you promise. That’s not good. For reference, had the rocket burger with large fries. $ 15

May be the best burger I’ve ever eaten, anywhere in the world. Certainly the best value-for-money burger. On a busy Melbourne corner, beside a donut place, Rocket serves up grilled patties of beefy heaven, nestled between piles of crunchy veg and soft, juice-soaked buns. These burgers nearly fall apart with juiciness(especially the double-sized but somewhat sexist ManBurger). The flavour of the meat, the contrast of hot umami and cool toppings, are perfect. And they’re massive, more than you can encompass in a single bite. Burgers range between $ 7 and $ 12. Their hot chips are great too, and if you pick them up you can get dips and a soft drink for just $ 1 extra. Only one or two stools: this is for takeaway and eating somewhere you don’t mind getting messy.

Build Your Own Epic… There’s a difference between heart and hearty and Rocket Burger has it. This local burger stand offers serious burger biters serious burger bites. Ask your local python how he dislocates his jaw so you can learn to fit your mouth around these epic eats. You have your basic cheeseburger with a thick patty. Then you start adding more fillings. I like to start with a Man Burger: bun, double bacon, double patties, double cheese, produce. Next I pack in more manliness: more bacon, an egg, jalapeño-business, roasted garlic aioli and chipotle hummus. After that, it’s time for a manly nap. And when I wake up… more man burger.
