Sadly– I witnessed racial discrimination in this store. The customers being targeted were farewelled with«Have fun being a Muslim in Australia!». It was disappointing behaviour and made me feel very uncomfortable and helpless.

A visit to Corky Saint Clair is an escape from the city streets into a delightful underground cave of treasures. I often visit to find presents for friends, and leave with something for myself too. The staff are so helpful, and will often draw my attention to some piece of jewellery or fixture which looks like part of the scenery and happens to be the perfect gift. Expect pretty and functional things for your house and yourself, and objets d’art.

Cute, quirky jewelry & off-beat treasure shop in the Desgraves arcade. Full of one-of-a-kind finds — handmade jewelry, locally designed pieces, with a range of reasonable price points. Staff is approachable and knowledgeable about their goods.

Okay, it’s 4pm on a Friday and you’re invited to your friend’s party tonight. You sort of forgot about it ’cause you’ve been really busy. Understandable, but not to this friend. If you show up empty handed you will be spontaneously combust at the birthday girl’s demand. So to save from exploding(cause let’s admit it, with increasing price of oil it would be really inconvenient), you can stop off at Corky’s on your way home from uni/work/club X. Corky’s is a great, affordable place for unique pieces of jewelry, mostly handmade by the owner. They also stock other brands like Victoria Mason. The entire store is just a great place to pick up a gift that will be remembered — and give that all important appearance of thoughtfulness, even if the thought wasn’t quite there.

You know those cool shops that stock all sorts of unique stuff that you would never find anywhere else? Like dinosaur necklaces, a porcelain squirrel or authentic luchador masks? Well, this is the King, Queen and Lord of all those places you’ve ever been to. It’s like being sucked into a bizarre world where you’re first reaction isn’t to question how you got there, but rather, pray to never be taking away. Birds, wooden deer heads and little knick-knack decorate the shop. Glass cabinets protect bizarre lamps, figurines and all types of silver necklaces and charms. It’s almost like being in the living room of a hoarder who only collects one-of-a-kind treasures from around the world. Speaking of treasures, jewellery makes up a big part of Corky Saint Clair. Wood, porcelain and silver are the materials of choice and often feature cute, cool characters and clever, creative charms. I swear, every item here as a personality of it’s own, which makes it all the more harder to walk away. A big warning, you are going fall in love with something here, no matter how hard you resist. So be prepared.
