This place is always empty when I walked past but I quite like the menu so as one of my friends who doesn’t work in the city decide to join me for lunch, where else but Chow City? The menu is interesting, Thai fusion, its divided into small, medium and large plates. and I guess the small plates consist of just 1 piece. We had the tuna bao(confit tuna in a bun), the tuna doesn’t taste confit, taste like canned tuna missed with some sauce. We also have papaya salad and also meatball as medium plates with a serve of roti. For the price we pay, approx. $ 20++ each, there wasn’t too much to it. I am not a big eater, but I left not full and came back to work ad demolish a yoghurt.

Dining at Chow City was a random idea, with one review on Unilocal,I wasn’t sure what to expect however the dessert photo was one that attracted me. We dined for lunch at 12.30 and surprisingly we didn’t leave until 3.30pm. We were happy when we left. We started with the Miss Chow cocktails made by Oprah, ordered two small dishes such as spring rolls and spicy edamame. We decided to try the soft shell crab with Papaya salad and Tuna sashimi as mediums and both were unforgettable, delicious and impressive. For Large main, we ordered the Beef Massaman Curry with Lychees and grapes. Wow! This was a big thumbs up. Every meal was prepared with warmth. Overall this is a must go place and it will surprise you. Quiet on a Monday but it’s a perfect experience for Melbourne foodies.

Go here, go here, go here! This is pan Asian food at its finest. The menu brings together many Asian cuisines but each dish is authentic and perfectly prepared. The pad Thai is excellent, the soft shell crab salad is delightfully crisp, the pork ribs fall off the bone(literally. Do not gesture feelingly with a rib in hand!) and the only danger with the small share dishes is that you’re too full for the mains! Décor is fun and very Melbourne. They have a great cocktail selection and a nice happy hour. Enjoy!
