There is nothing nicer than a warming bowl of curry on a cold winter day… ok so its not technically winter, but I think today was definitely curry worthy weather. This is something Brim does so well… even though its not unusual to have a line up of customers out the door the food is quick, delicious and so very satisfying. If you want that little something extra I am also a huge fan of the potato salad and the teriyaki chicken salad(the dressing is so lovely).

I had the most delicious chicken curry here today. I nearly fell over at the cost, sooooooo inexpensive and for food I was soon to discover, made my taste buds dance! The staff were both extremely nice & polite. A fab experience indeed and especially yummy:)

This tiny yet warm and welcoming organic japanese coukd be missed if you rushed down Little Collins and weren’t paying attention. I don’t need to repeat the other beaming reviews however I’ll simply say once you go here once for the curry you will be back!

One of my favourite Japanese places for lunch and dinner. It’s quite crowded during lunch time because this a popular place for office lunch. For curry rice, you can order small size which is half price. The full portion is quite huge so be careful. It’s the most popular dish here. Organic noodle salad with sesame is also my favourite one besides curry rice.

My favorite here would be the chicken curry, the beef curry is pretty good too. You will struggle to finish the large serving of curry, so I prefer to go for a half size curry with a salad. I have only been for lunch, but the dinner menu looks really good, they even have okonomiyaki, which I must try some time. Healthy, tasty, cheap food. You can’t go wrong.

If you want to try a tasty & inexpensive curry takeaway for lunch I’d definitely recommend Brim CC. A delicious, melt in your mouth curry at half size is perfect for lunch on a cold winters day. Vegetable, chicken or beef curry with rice only $ 5.00. Yes there are queues during lunchtime but the queue moves quickly.

Coinciding with the climate CC stands for either Chunky & Cosy or Cool & Colourful. This café is so cute it makes my cheeks hurt. Alliterations are also applied to their anniversary projects(Very Vegetarian!, Extra Experience!) with announcements adorning their wall alongside artwork from their adoring advocates. Simple sublime soups support a selection of salads and spicy organic curries. They also sell somewhat more substantial dinners such as soba sets, slurpable udon and saucy okonomiyaki. By noon they’ll be bustling with bankers but will buoyantly bring you your lunch to go, tied with a bow and bagged to take back to your building or a bench.

Great value filling Japanese food(chicken curry, rice and salad set for $ 9.50 is the winner winner chicken dinner). It’s always fresh and salads perfect in freshness and flavouring. However, be aware that this is mainly a Katsu curry house at lunchtime which isn’t everyone’s idea of Japanese food. Dinner time see a little more variety. Five years ago this place would have been a five star venue however there’s so much authentic Japanese available these days that its now a solid four stars. Definitely worth at least one visit. Enjoy!

An organic fuss free no hang ups Japanese café that’s packed during lunch hour but service is remarkably quick and the staff are always lovely and smiling. This alone makes you appreciate your food more and knowing that they appreciate your patronage as well. True to their motto and concept I believe. What goes around comes around… Famed for their Japanese curries on rice thy also serve noodles and salads but don’t expect a huge menu. They also serve A few types of maki handrolls that are big in size but you won’t find your average Sushi offerings here. They have a clear focus in their menu and the menu is shown with pictures and descriptions on the wall and at the counter. It’s tight space inside but comfy. I have always had the curries take away and wait outside on the footpath so not to crowd the inside and the staff graciously will call our your number and seeing you outside will bring it out straight away. That, my friends, is pure service. They also open for dinner with a heavier menu but I’ve not tried that yet. I highly recommend this place for unexpectedly hearty and fulfilling Japanese meals that isn’t sushi or rolls.

Brim CC is such a little gem! You can get a healthy, yummy salad and curry /rice set for less than a tenner, plus it’s all organic, gluten free and they have great vegetarian options! I don’t know how they do it for such a bargain price… This is a pretty low-key Japanese café, but it does have a loyal following and the tables are always full at lunchtime. It’s a comfortable spot to eat alone with a great selection of books and magazines on healthy and eco living. The staff are super-polite as only the Japanese can be, and the wooden spoons add to the authentic feel. They also do take away for those who are too busy to eat in or if there are no tables available.

BrimCC serves japanese organic-gluten free goodness. Its that type of food that makes you feel like you’ve just done your body a massive favour. In two words Nutritious & Fresh. Originally just a soup & sushi takeaway shop now a small café, perhaps still too small to cater for its traffic, locate on Little Collins street towards spencer street and works similarly to Purple Peanut with a small nazi production line scenario. Could be mistaken for PP’s younger brother or sisters but not related. The below is an extraction form their website: «The image of our shop name, BRIMCC, comes from the brim of our soup cup. It also means brimming our customers with happiness. CC has different meaning in each season. CC = Chunky & Cozy in winter and Cool & Colourful in summer! We’d like your smile to be brimming with our products and service.» So maybe four words in summary then, Nutritious, Fresh… Chunk & Cozy? Either way you’ll be ‘brimming’!
