Wow this is one stealth Australia Post! I know this area pretty well and never knew all the post office services were available from inside this newsagency. Great if you don’t want to have to deal with the limited parking and all the people at Karrinyup Shopping Centre. Here you can park right out the front and run in and out in 2 minutes. The rest of the newsagency is pretty stock standard.

We were chasing around a package last week and the people at Marmion’s newsagency-slash-post office were very helpful. They weren’t so helpful as to find us our package, but that had more to do with the fact that the thing had been addressed incorrectly than it did with the efforts of the newsagency-slash-post office’s staff. Not that we knew that at the time of our visit to the newsagency-slash-post office, of course. We probably wouldn’t have gone there if we had. We might have, but it seems unlikely, given we wouldn’t have had a reason to. While most Australia Post outlets open at nine, the fact that this one is attached to a newsagent means that it opens at seven, which is great for those who have something to post before work. The place also offers a dry-cleaning service – the quality of which I cannot speak to – suggesting that perhaps it would be more accurate to describe it as a newsagency-slash-post office-slash-dry-cleaners. Though that seems a little bit over the top. The eye can only handle so many hyphens. The staff suggested we contact the person who sent us the package in the first place and we resolved to do so as soon as possible. This is now my post office of choice and not merely because it’s the closest to where I live. Although that strikes me as a pretty good reason, too.
