I’m kind of loathe to advertise how great this spot is. Only giving consideration to the coastal area(not exactly the club, per se) it has everything — new and improved car park, amenities, grassy area with seating, beach access and the beauty of our West Australian coastline. A favourite spot for local retirees, this particular piece of the coast is usually used by snorkelers and people just getting their heads wet for health and fitness, rather than for languishing in the sun. I take my dog(Mr Whippy) down because he loves the attention he gets and is quite happy to be in a shady spot to watch me swim(in the earlier morning hours). There is a ramp, that I have been reliably informed is to use for your non-motorised water craft. I usually scale the rocks to get up and down. The strip of beach is not very broad near the ramp and disappears completely in high tide. There is no space for sunbathing. Like I said, it isn’t really for that purpose. Go down, get in, flop about, get out and go. Or, sit on the grass on a bench if you need to dry out(as I do). Chat with the regulars and you’re done.

Place rating: 4 Perth, Australia
Arguably the best location in the Perth Metro area for a club of any sort, the MAAC houses keen anglers, divers and men of the sea alike. The iconic club has stood proud on the coast for many a year. The club has a great community feel and a place where my Dad has been a member for quite some time. One of the elements of the club that is enjoyed by the members and visitors alike is the weigh in after each competition in the boat shed underneath the club, of which fronts on to the beach. Many a beer has been downed whilst talking of tales of the sea and enjoying the day’s catch with friends and anglers. The restaurant is a great place to take in the view and the food is reasonably priced and delicious. Get down and take in all the club has to offer. Please note you have to be accompanied by a member to enter the clubhouse.
