How I had never heard of this place before last night is beyond me but tucked down in Kangaroo Point, there it is. After finding a park which I’ll admit was pretty tricky, we were seated in the courtyard and had some cocktails within a few minutes. The drinks were delicious and generous but at $ 17 each they do lean towards the expensive side. I’d recommend you order one of the jugs which at $ 29 each are far more economical and just as good. The menu options are amazing. You’ve got a selection of about 20 tapas and 5 main meals. We went only tapas and ordered 5 plates between 3 of us which was more than sufficient and the plates tend to average out at about $ 15 a pop so not too painful when the bill comes either. I’d highly recommend the chicken chipotle tacos, the duck spring rolls, the trio of dips, the pork belly and the pan fried gnocchi. So basically all of it. I recommend all of it. The one let down was the service. I think the system they have operating is ‘all waitstaff circulate the entire restaurant’ instead of actually dividing in to sections so everyone is served in a timely fashion. Unfortunately this meant that some tables were served 2 or 3 times while we sat there for 30 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. We had to get up and find someone. Once the food was up they staggered it really well so that was a plus but once we were finished and the table cleared we waited another 30 minutes for someone to bring us the bill. Summer House, there must be a better way! Thankfully the live music they had kept us entertained enough that I wasn’t too sour about it.

I don’t even have words for how good this place is, my husband and I are both vegetarians(so picky pain in the arse customers) and they had a tonne of menu items that were suitable for us, which in this area is hard. We had 4 tapas items, and every one was insanely amazing. Beyond our expectations delicious, just superb! Our waiter hand picked a beer for my husband from my vague description of what he usually likes and it was 100% on point, the ambiance is amazing, the location is great, I honestly couldn’t rate this place higher. You guys rock, keep it up.

Where do I start. This is one of those place that sign up for a groupon, but than proceed to treat customers with groupons terribly. For starters things seemed okay, we were given our included drink and menus. But from there things went down hill. The waitress put us right at the back corner in the dark which made it difficult to get her attention, which was problematic as she took about an hour to TAKE our order. We ended up getting our order taken as we switched tables to a table that was right in her path. Ordering a couple of drinks had my partner going up to the bar(as we were getting zero service), them refusing to give drinks there as it’s «table service only» and telling him that a waitress will come over«right now» — which in turn had her fluff around on the register and some others things before coming over about 15 minutes later to get our drink order. Not to mention the fact I saw a rat darting along the scrubs in the courtyard but also a mouse running along the ground. We talked to our fellow grouponers sitting right near us about the rodents, oh and also how long they had been waiting as well. To top it off, I review these guys on Urban Spoon, and they deleted it. The nerve. AVOIDATALLCOSTS.
