Princess Polly Indooroopilly

Without spending heaps of money, it can be hard to find clothing that’s fashionable but not painfully trendy and overpriced. Princess Polly still puts out a bit of the painfully trendy stuff that you see spilling out of stores like Sportsgirl and Myer, but I always find a few, unique, cute little things in there, making it a worthwhile place to have a look in from time to time. It’s also not too badly priced, with most items ranging from $ 40 – 70. Good to have another independent store in the Indro Shopping Centre!

I didn’t even know a Princess Polly in Indooroopilly existed until I was at the shopping centre hunting for a dress for the weekend. I was delighted to find this place for numerous reasons: 1) The store is much larger, and consequently, there’s much more stock than its sister store on Adelaide street, 2) There was a huge range of accessories (bags, belts, shoes, jewellery), and 3) The interior is designed with feminine touches, and makes trying on clothes more of a pleasure than a chore. Mostly, I was blown away by the range. Whereas the sister store in the city still has a great selection of wares, Princess Polly Indooroopilly trumps them in terms of unique designs, and the number of sizes on offer.

I absolutely adore the gorgeous retro inspired dresses stocked by Princess Polly and was super excited when they opened a store at Indooroopilly. As I write I have their website open in the background and am just itching to troll through their new dresses in stock so I can go in and try them on on Thursday during their late night shopping hours! The assistants in store are really nice and will help you find outfits to your taste. I think the prices are very reasonable for the young Australian labels, at around $ 60 for a cute mini dress that you aren’t going to see every second girl wearing when you head out on a weekend.

The ‘Princess Polly’ store in the city has long been a store that I have loved to visit. I remember buying a dress from here when I was a poor little school girl with my hard earned ‘$ 9 an hour wage’ and being so proud of it! So you can imagine how excited I was when they opened a store at Indooroopilly!
This store sells very on-​trend garments with a focus on the current vintage and retro inspired trends. Think 60’s mini dresses, 80’s colour blocking and a bit of 90’s denim. They cater to most budgets too since they stock your generic «made in China» brands as well as local designer labels. I must say I am more impressed by the local designer labels that they stock. Although these garments are more expensive, I feel that they are more worth the price since the «made in China» clothes seem a bit overprices compared to what you would find in Dotti or Valley Girl.
I am a fan of the visual merchandising in the Indooroopilly store, the front display always has me wanting to walk into the store which is pretty bad for my wallet but good for their revenue. The sales girls will greet you and be willing to help with your fashion trend queries.
If you are a fan of the original Princess Polly in the city, there is a high chance you will like the Indooroopilly one. It is just as packed with pretty dresses and trendy clothes as the city store.
