Beautiful fresh takeaway lunches with Vietnamese flavours. The banh mi baguettes, while not doing a very good job of being traditional banh mi, are delicious and a far better option than the Subway further down the mall. Pick from a number of different meats for your baguette and absolutely opt in for the pâté and chilli, duh. A filling and fresh lunch option from the city for just $ 7.50, which is pretty great. The only fiddly bit is that the meat is kind of… how do I describe this? Scattered over the top of the baguette? And to stop it from falling out everywhere, it’s up to you to get your fingers shoved into that baguette before you eat it. Look, it’s not clean, but it’s dang tasty. There are also a selection of rice paper rolls for $ 3.50 a pop, or viet-style rice noodle salads for $ 9. Really great fresh lunch options that you can even pre-book via their website if you’ve got limited time. Drive-by banh mi baguettes? Dang, I wish I worked in the city. I’ll have to make do with my random city visits, and hope that their roller door isn’t closed up early, like it was the first time I tried to visit.(Businesses down here tend to advertise their summer hours and yet also have winter hours.) Looking forward to seeing what their bun gao menu looks like once their bun supplier sorts themself out! Mint should really have a chat to Brisbane’s Bun Mobile…
