Wow, breakfast was amazing! I’d highly recommend the eggs Benedict with a side of potatoes. The coffee was a little strong, but I’m American, so what do I know about good coffee. Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers for recommending this place.

Nice eggs Benedict and excellent French toast. Coffee was good too. I found this place with a random search on Unilocal and was a great surprise. Staff were friendly, chef said the French toast was the result of a competition with his girlfriend for«best French toast». The shop front is deceivingly small and looks like a takeaway coffee joint, but all the seating and the kitchen is out the back.

I don’t really like pancakes, but the nutella pancakes are the best I’ve ever had. I’m a chocolate lover and this was right up my alley. All of our group’s dishes were beautiful, balanced, flavorful and filling. Our server was so kind, had great advice for activities in Hobart, and served us quite quickly. Next time I’m in town, I’m coming back!

Yes, a good experience. Food was well presented and our table of 6 all enjoyed their meals. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Will return!

Don’t be put off by they way they spell café — Kafe Kara is an excellent little spot for lunch in the CBD. Their food is excellent and the coffee good(if a little bitter — depends on your tastes). The café itself is long and narrow, disguising the amount of seating available from the street, so it is worth wandering in even if they ‘look full’. It’s probably worth noting that the café can be a bit noisy at kitchen end(out the back) and the tables are fairly small, so you won’t have a lot of room for gadgets and your lunch :)

Ooh, Kara. You surprised me. This could just be because I was(and still am) morally opposed to you spelling«café» as «kafe” – look, I spent ten years refusing to set foot in the«music kafe» in Brisbane – but you were open and you were right near somewhere I’d just shopped and needed to drop, so in I went for some lunch. Kara, that menu item that I settled on – don’t call it a «chicken salad». You’re fooling everyone. I almost skimmed right over it because I didn’t feel like a salad. It’s not a salad; it’s a slice of heaven. Cold soba noodles and a delicious sauce and I haven’t stopped craving it since I first ate it. The coffee was also excellent and the service was SOFRIENDLY! HELLO! Beautiful high ceilings and a lovely design, too. I’ll be back, Kara! Though I’d still prefer it if you changed your name.
