Great coffee, amazing little nibble snacks, but you guys suck at babycinos! Maybe you don’t have kids yet, but any edjit can figure out that giving a scalding cup of milk to a toddler won’t end well. Luckily I always check before handing it over. Don’t normally do takeaway babycinos but it was particularly chilly… Less heat, more fluffy stuff saves us a trip to A&e. Cheers x

Ecru is Villino’s little takeaway brother – a hole in the wall a couple of doors down from big bro, with a few street-side seats if you really need to focus on one thing at a time(ie drinking THEN walking). Ecru’s coffee is consistently great, but what makes me give it five stars is the joy of preordering. Say what? Download the Rewardle app onto your smartphone and hand some extra cash over next time you buy a coffee from Ecru, and they’ll put it on your Rewardle account. Then the next time you’re running late for work, roll over in bed and load up the app, order your coffee THEN jump on your bike. Grab it on your way through and keep going. That basically describes exactly what I do on those desperate days. And it’s perfect. It’s glorious. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. The coffee’s delicious, too. (Only negative is that Ecru’s cash-only. But throw a wad of cash at Rewardle and you won’t have to worry about cash-carrying every time you need a coffee anyway.)

Fantastic coffee. Friendly service. Rarely have to wait very long. Has become my usual.

As previously noted, this hole-in-the-wall café is actually part of Villino a couple doors up the street. Same great coffee available for take-away, but without squeezing into a crowded café to get it.

Ecru Coffee is an expansion of Villino Espresso just up the road, aimed at the takeaway coffee crowd taking them away from crowding the main café by creating a delightful little hole in the wall where you can get your caffeine fix in a little paper cup and go about your day. Definitely worth a visit if you like your coffee nice and quick.
