Went for a quick morning biz meeting and thoroughly enjoyed the special coffee and cake deal. The service was quick and the sticky date cake was fantastic — could not fault ! Will definitely return more often :)

We went to Primo Cucina for family lunch on a weekend 2 weeks ago. The burger was super yummy and boys just liked the fish and chips. Very reasonable price for four of us. Strong recommended!

We decided to give the Primo Cuchina another go last night, after avoiding it for the last 12 months after a couple of visits when the service and food was absolutely terrible. Last night we were pleasantly surprised by the improvements in the service and the quality of the food. We were seated promptly and the wine waiter brought us wine glasses and an ice bucket within a minute or two, with a smile on his face. Our waitress promptly brought us menus and soon returned to take our order. The entrée(a Tasting Plate to share) was delivered to our table in a reasonable time and whilst it was fairly simple it was very tasty. It was a very generous serving, so we only ordered one main dish to share — a Pollo Carbinara. This was served after a reasonable time and was very tasty and well cooked, nothing like the last time we ordered this here. Whilst there was only the 2 of us, and we did not order anything complicated we felt that everything had improved greatly, and we could see other diners enjoying the experience. It seems to have returned to being a good family restaurant, with good service and good food, at reasonable prices. We will be back, and hopefully it will remain just as good.

Avoid — new owners, terrible service. Really average food, the kinda italian food you made when you were at uni. Almost had food tipped on me, drinks never came, waiters having no idea what the food was they were bringing out. Upside? Cheap. Really cheap. Tuesday is $ 16 pizza n pasta.

Eaten there a number of times over years, but it just keeps seems to be sliding down. Order a bottle of wine(on more then one occasion) and it is plonked down on the table unopened… help yourself. Phoned up for a take away at 9 Sat night(open“till late) and the kitchen is closed. Had always enjoyed the food previously, but have pretty much given up. They just don’t seem to care about customers. Must be doing very well.

I have been to Primo Cucina for dinner and was completely satisfied with my meal. The mains are around $ 23– $ 28 and the serving sizes are huge. The champagne Pollo was really rich and delicious the chicken was perfect and the sauce aaaah! The service at Primo Cucina is amazing they are friendly, attentive and genuinely look like they want to be there which is nice. The wood fired pizza oven adds a nice touch to the inside eating area but I find the alfresco area more comfortable, ambient and relaxing. I came back for coffee and cake just recently on a moderately hot day, the alfresco area had mist fans which made the atmosphere very inviting. The service was great again and two coffees and one cake only cost $ 11. The carrot cake was not really the best I have ever had it was very close to being dry. My mum who I went with was remarking on how good the coffee was but I have a coffee machine at home and I buy the cheapest coffee dust for it– they still taste good but I reckon the two coffees were on par which is not what you expect from an Italian restaurant– or anywhere that sells coffee.

Primo Cucina is a classic Italian restaurant providing massive servings of delicious home style food. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it’s lovely on a summers night as you can enjoy the light breeze. The chilli mussels, pizzas and pasta are sensational and after the garlic bread I am speechless. The service is fast but the tables are way too small and all seem to be unbalanced. I wouldn’t suggest staying for coffee and cake, it’s nothing special and the chai latte was disgusting, it tasted like luke warm milk with cinnamon sprinkles. Yet Primo Cucina has amazing lunch specials!

Primo Cucina is in an excellent location, but you might want to two think twice before heading there for coffee. I’m not sure about the food – the wood-fired pizza oven looks great, right there when you enter the door, and one’s first thought is that one would rather like to taste the food that comes out of it – but the coffee is some of the worst I have had in the area. The espresso was all but undrinkable: burned, bitter and bad. The soy mocha, my girlfriend told me, was basically a cup of soy milk. She couldn’t taste the coffee in it at all. I suggested she take some of my espresso. «After your reaction?» she said. «Not likely.» The design is pleasant enough – it’s worth sitting outside and enjoying the light breeze – and the family near us seemed to be having a nice enough time. But the coffee turned us off the idea of ordering anything else. If this is how the place does coffee, we decided, we weren’t all that interested in seeing how it did anything else.
