Amazing food and nice atmosphere but why (?!?) do they close in the afternoon? It totally spoils it for people like me who like to find a great café to sit in for a late lunch. If they want to clear people out for dinner they could put them on the window or let them know the table is booked for later. Sooo annoying.

I’ve been here twice now and it’s been consistently really great. The service is smooth and friendly. Wait staff know their menu items well and were really accommodating for my friend with food allergies. The vibe is comfortable. It’s located just near Swinbourne uni hawthorn campus but doesn’t feel uni grungy. It looks like a mix of students and suits us families. So Good for everyone. Our lunch orders turned up quickly and were really delicious. My friends both had the prawn salad, one was modified for allergies both made me think I’ll order that next time. I went the fish and chips. Perfectly Pan fried snapper, beer battered chips and salad. I’m a bit picky with fish and I was very happy with this.
This is will be my go to place when I’m in the area.

We didn’t really feel like lining up for the popular Glenferrie /​Burwood road choices, so wandered across to Brother Fox.
A really nice little venue located near Glenferrie Station end of GF Road, Brother Fox seems to be a venue that is covering all the meal times, from breakfast through to post dinner drinks.
The Baked eggs were a nice hit of spice from chrizo served with a really nice seeded bread. My partner in crime had eggs benedict and they didn’t seem to last long as well.
Coffee was pretty good as well.

Friendly and cozy. Good paella and Risotto stuffed eggplant. Many gluten free options. We are visiting from California and think this is a great treasure for then Hawthorn neighborhood.

A friend suggested dinner in Hawthorn and I thought we would try somewhere different, so we ended up at Brother Fox. It is only a small place but the atmosphere was relaxed, the staff friendly, the décor clean and neat, the menu extensive. I had a steak (which was good), but the Sticky Date Pudding was the best I have had for quite awhile. I’ll be back.
