Well decided to eat in, a sensational decision, nice ambience for a cheap eats venue, plenty of room, not too loud, amazing tunes playing, some Elvish, a remix of ‘Endless Love’ and a host of other old time hits they may not have discovered Spotify yet! The menu was amazing a full Peking Duck under $ 30 but I went for prawn dumplings, steamed chicken dumplings and Sichuan Pork Dumplings in a hot and spicy soup! Amazing flavour the soup polished up the dumplings mix perfectly! Great service BYO even pour your drinks! I wanted to stay longer to see if Bonny M tunes came on or some Barry Manilow.

My only regret is that I no longer live near Glenferrie Rd to sample this incredible place more. Dumpling King is a relatively new addition to the dumpling restaurant pool in Melbourne having only been open for 3 months, but if I’m going to be honest, I think Dumpling King has ousted Shanghai Street when it comes to the«best dumpling restaurant in Melbourne». Atmosphere: Incredibly nice. The restaurant isn’t too large, but they really made and effort when it comes to a beautiful dining experience. At the counter there’s a display kitchen of the dumpling making process. Customer Service: Okay, I’ll admit. My fellow Chinese people normally don’t really give a shit about customer service. However, it’s always a nice surprise when you receive fantastic service. Our water was constantly refilled, very kind and courteous workers, etc. Food: The prices are CHEAP. About 9 dollars for a plate of dumplings and a lot of rice dishes less than 10 dollars as well. The dumplings they served were juicy and delicious, plus very unique. The wraps were slightly more fluffier and soft than most wraps in Melbourne, which was perfect and a nice change. The Xiao Long Bao was filled with soup and incredibly yummy. All for a fantastic price! — Dumpling King is officially my new favourite spot for dumplings in Melbourne. There are not enough good things to say about them!
