Nice little pub was great for a relaxing Friday night with the fire and acoustic music, good priced drinks -$ 8-$ 9 for a wine. Food was good but a few tweaks could be better, we ordered the potato skins, which were more like fried new potatoes covered in aioli and bacon so where a bit mushy would have been better if more crispy. The pie needed to be a bit bigger with more filling, also the crispy potatoes were just too chunky(jacket potatoes cut it half) would have been nicer with small crispy potatoes and maybe extra sauce. Overall though did enjoy and would recommend /go back

Another amazing meal. Had the lamb cutlets and they were to die for. They just melted in your mouth and the Parmesan crumb yummy. It came with crispy Texan potatoes which I had no idea what it was but it is roasted potato with chillies. Again yummy

Beautiful location, disappointed with the quality of the meals given their lofty price tags. Service was not great either. This place should be amazing so was left very disappointed. Food and service average.

First time dining. The chef’s special pasta was delicious, generous and affordable. The atmosphere was simply gorgeous. It’s a lovely outside garden with fire pit, excellent noise level and a good crowd. Service was solid. Very happy. Will come back as a habit.

I love the beer garden area of the Rose and Crown. It’s perfect in the spring and autumn months when it’s not too hot to enjoy your meal outside. We visited late on a Saturday afternoon when it was packed. It always seems to be packed on weekends, so it’s probably wise to book. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and this recent visit was no exception. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered a piece of the warm walnut and goats cheese tart from the Garden Menu. This was small but satisfying, and I loved the flavours of the nuts with the cheese. Good pastry too. Two of my friends shared the Black Sheep pizza which looked appetising and which they really enjoyed. Another friend chose the Southern fried chicken burger with fries, which she also gave the seal of approval. You have to order your food and drinks at the counter, but I have been in a large group where wait staff actually took our orders from the table. I think we may have ordered from the A La Carte menu on that occasion, even though we were sitting in the beer garden. I don’t quite know how that works, but maybe you can choose from either menu. The range of food is varied, and there are daily specials that sound delicious. I remember their amazing pumpkin and mushroom gnocchi from a previous visit, but sadly it seems to have left the current menu.

Great spot in the Swan Valley for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks. Beautiful beer garden with live music on weekends. Service is really good, especially from manager Brendan. Food is fabulous and cannot be faulted — we ate in the Convicts restaurant which was just stunning. We even got a kids pack to keep our son entertained until the food arrived. Can imagine the beer garden is great on wintery days as it has a huge fire pit. Definitely the place to bring your family and friends and any visitors from out of town as the oldest pub in WA!

Had a business meeting here yesterday and enjoyed lunch in the Restaurant.(Over 40C so needed aircon!) However, the Rose and Crown is a great place to pop in for a meal with friends or family if you are in Guildford. There are SO many seating options here. There is a lovely beer garden along the side of the venue. Nice and shady on a cooler summers day and plenty of places to sit and have a quiet gathering. Food: The food is great. I had the Thai Beef Salad off their Specials Menu. All I can say in YUM! My husband makes this brilliantly and I was expecting to taste the same flavours and they did not disappoint. I heard a few guys walking out of the restaurant pass my table talking about how great their steaks were. Service: Attentive. No sooner had I sat down that I was presented with a great big bottle of cold water. The staff were great, attentive, informative but not overbearing. Parking: On and Off street. If you follow through down the laneway there is more parking. Just don’t park in front of the motel rooms as they are reserved for guests staying at the venue. Only thing I would say that I think lets the venue down is the state of the ladies(can only speak about that one.) toilets. It looked a bit tired and could do with a lift. :) Otherwise a great place to pop in. You will definitely go back!

Great place! Made a booking for 20 people for a work function. No hassles, all of the staff were very friendly, and the food arrived fairly quickly once it had been ordered. Everyone seemed happy with their meal, so would definitely go again!

Some of the worst service experienced at a restaurant, we were seated at 10am for Sunday breakfast, food not delivered for over 1 hour and 10 minutes and a couple of our groups food was mot hot. We were then rushed out of restaurant and asked to pay because they had their lunchtime changeover. We moved outside to garden area where one of the staff asked how our breakfast was, when told that some of the meals were cold, he was apologetic and said he would arrange for some extra food, but nothing came out. Overall a very disappointed experience

This place is amazing. It has a dining room, outdoors and underground cellar. Great atmosphere to eat in. A little pricey but the quality and quantity is great for the price. Would highly recommend for families or dates.

Huge sprawling expanse of a pub, with extended bits everywhere. We went at the end of the mad crowd of Mother’s Day for a quick pint after a long bush walk up near Gidgegannup. We noted lots of staff, lots of tables and space, a nice duo belting out some tunes in the yard and a terrific plate of fat chips that was perfect for sharing. Flicking through Unilocal,I noticed OPG(Other People’s Gastroporn) and it looks good. It encourages me to investigate further if I’m in the district again.

Really great, better than pub, pub food. Was at a wedding here late last year was very impressed with the buffet option that was provided. This time owe ate in the a la carte restaurant. Really good and friendly service from all who looked after us from the minute you walked in the door to paying the bill. Dined on a Monday night with family and there was almost no free tables, thankfully I booked! Very generous portion servings, I enjoyed the fish pie with hand cut chip(more like rectangular chip tunes they were so big and tasty!). Price wasn’t cheap but the quality was evident, so don’t think of it as a pub dining experience. Wide range of wines and beers available. Very, very enjoyable!

I love this place! I’ve been here so many times and I’ve never ever had a bad time. It’s such a lovely pub in a nice area and now that it has a gorgeous beer garden it’s perfect for a meal and a beer in the sun. I met my friend here on a Wednesday arvo for an early dinner before heading to the movies in Midland. We ordered a couple of plates to share, the bread and two dips which was lovely toasted bread and a delicious guacamole — my favourite was the sweet potato dip. We also had the salt and pepper squid and the arancini balls, all of it amazing! It came out so quick too which was perfect for us and wasn’t too expensive. The service was good and the atmosphere even better. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back again and actually spend longer than a hour there!

Went for lunch in the beer garden. Misters helped to keep cool and great surroundings. The menu outside is pretty limited. I did not find anything interesting everything seemed fried or boring. I had the savoury tart in the end with side salad — I know boring! My friend had fish and chips(she is pregnant and could not eat anything else on the menu). Service is at the bar — which isn’t an issue really but waiters had a hard time finding people to deliver their orders — numbering system definitely needs an overhaul. But all was not lost i had the mango pannacotta with fried ice cream on the side. The pannacotta was not good, grainy and bland — but that fried ice cream was awesome, and to think out of the whole meal i thought i would like the fried ice cream the least — but it definitely won me over. If i go back i am only ordering the fried ice cream.

Two-stars for the terrible service. No desire to please the customer whatsoever. There was an air from staff that made me feel like I was bothering them. For instance, when brought our salad(after ordering at the bar and getting a number), I asked after a fork to eat it, and she(without smiling) said ‘there is cutlery at the bar, you’re welcome to help yourself’. First of all, you can’t get table service in the beer garden area near the band. So, if you want service, you have to sacrifice love music and ambiance. Fair enough, right? Not. I had the pumpkin quinoa salad and Steve had the chips, both were excellent. The band was lovely and played until almost 6pm! Drink selection is average. We would have stayed longer but with such poor service(as is all too terribly common in WA), we left after just one drink and our entrée.

Lovely hotel with a nice«beer garden» around back. Lots of outdoor seating with order at the bar service, great setting with old brick and green trees. New firepit you can gather around although I wish they had outdoor space heaters for chilly evenings. Food was pretty good pub food. Had the chips which were really well rationed and seasoned. Shared 3 pizzas. Rose and shrimp was very spicy but had no cheese? Pumpkin was fantastic as was the goat. They were all cooked well with crispy crusts and nice and thin. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. All in all a great spot!

The Rose & Crown has to have one of the best beer gardens in Perth. Whether you’re there for a meal or just a pint, the leafy and comfortable space can’t be beat. Food is generally of good quality, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a few sandwiches on the lunch menu.

So have you got some time? Keen for a casual lunch with an amazing outdoor setting and great atmosphere? Let’s go to the Rose and Crown! I have been here a couple of times, my first time coming here I was really impressed and a year later I returned. My return visit was a little bit of a let down only because the food wasn’t quite the same and lacked a little in flavour and creativity of textures. This is such a great place for a social lunch and special event! the garden is vast and luscious but there is a great feel of intimacy to it. Staff were great in checking orders and bringing out food, coffee and dessert in a great timely and polite manner. I’d happily dine here again, it almost felt like I was in a little holiday away from all the hustle and bustle of Perth.

The Rose & Crown is a cute friendly pub. It reminds me of being in the English countryside and pulling over to the local pub. It’s very cozy inside, great for small get togethers or one on one catch ups. The food is decent pub grub, pizzas, steak sandwiches and the like. My only criticism is that the bar is a cash bar… in 2014, that’s just not cool. They have a nice garden and restaurant section(apparently, I haven’t made it over that way yet) and I know it’s a popular spot for weddings too.

It’s like the not-so-secret garden out on the patio. But that doesn’t ruin how lush and relaxing it is. With a sprawling set up I saw everyone from the likes of a Mommy group, to boys drinks out to apres work indulgers. I have yet to venture into the inside world of this joint, but this is only due to the fact that I am savouring my exploration of this place bit by bit. As the oldest still functioning pub in WA the Rose and Crown is steeped in history, and mystery. To sum up, Guildford produces yet another amazing spot to escape to and enjoy.
