Oriental Origins is a refreshing and interesting stop if you’ve had enough for all the vintage and antique stores along James Street. Greeted by beautifully crafted wooden animal ornaments displayed against the dark red colour of the building, you immediately feel the transported to Thailand and beyond. As you walk into this massive warehouse there are hundreds of beautifully sculpted and crafted traditional Buddhas some with the most intricate carved detailing others covered in stunning gold leaf. From wooden chaise lounges, carved separators, huge pots, statues, traditional dinner plates and bowls and festive gongs to beautiful and delicate hand made coloured pineapple and saa paper. Oriental Origins is a trove of exotic beauty perfect to go to if you want to add a bit of a holiday feel to your home.

Oriental Origins is inside a large warehouse building. You can’t tell what’s inside until you actually go inside, but once in, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. They have huge and beautiful bronze buddha statues, oriental opium beds, figurines, furniture, candle holders, lanterns and so so much more. The best part, this could be one of the cheapest stores on James Street, or at least the best value for the item. I was surprised to see that there were so many affordable items, and the selection is enormous. If you’re looking for ways to decorate your home, I think you’ll be surprised with what you can find at Oriental Origins.
