Back today for a quick lunch — drinks took a long time to be made — our food was taken to the wrong table despite being given a number — fortunately the people at the table declined unlike some occasions where our food has been accepted and eaten! There was no system for clearing /cleaning tables — we sat at a cleared table but it was filthy and greasy — needed a good wipe with hot soapy water — we wiped it with a serviette and it was black from grease and dirt. Need to get a better system here — won’t be back in a hurry

Great baristas and fairly quick service, only let down by the pager-based«collect your own coffee» system. Also, be aware that, since the demise of the Burnside tree, it’s almost too«airy» and exposed feeling.

A friend of mine referred to the new Cibo at Burnside as Tree-bo — he of course said it with a plum in his mouth that made it sound even funnier. It has to be said though the the tree smack bang in the middle of the new Cibo is a very popular topic of conversation in Adelaide right now. I’m sure the ‘hysteria’ will die down soon. I have to say I did like the old Cibo at Burnside but am only too happy to move with the times and join the crowd at this new mega sized Cibo Espresso. When I went recently, even given the size of the new café, it was actually hard to find a table. Who would’ve thought that sitting under a tree to drink your coffee would attract so many people? All in all I like the new spin on an old fave but the only drawback is the incredibly long line you have to join to order your coffee. If its the first coffee of the day that can sometimes be a little hard to take when you haven’t had you first hit. The new Cibo(or Tree-bo) … I’m a fan.

Burnside Village has just been renovated and Cibo is one of its main features. Walk through the main doors off Portrush Road and bang there is Cibos, as well as an extremely large tree. Yes there is a gigantic tree in the middle of Burnside Village. Cibo and its many tables are positioned all around this tree. Don’t worry no branch will fall on you, there are nets preventing this, however, you may have a leaf or two fall on your head. Now the tree creates a few problems. So that it stays alive there is a gap in the ceiling. This means, the elements can enter. One dreary Saturday morning I was sitting enjoying my coffee, when it started to rain, inside Burnside. Yes all the customers got wet, the floor was wet, and there was water in my coffee. Hence, if it is raining outside, I wouldn’t really suggest going to Cibo. Apart from the tree problem, Cibo has good coffee. It is always good. There are also few other choices when you are at Burnside. You have a good view of all the shops and customers, so it is fun to sit and people watch. Be ready to wait for a while if you decide to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The line to order is very long and often it will be hard to find a table.

I love Cibo and this has to be the biggest in Adelaide; at least I can’t think of any other that is bigger. It is so big there is a zig zag queue to get to the counter, which is round and park like, in keeping with the most amazing tree in the centre that they were obliged to keep alive, and in situ, during the rennovation. Unfortunately, I think the tree may be dying which would be very sad as it is quite an attraction and gives the whole café an indoor outdoor feel. I love that the flooring is thick hardwood boards. All this makes you feel quite relaxed as you sip your consistently good Cibo coffee after a hard mornings shopping. The recent rennovation with the addition of shops such as Zara and Metallicus and of course, Cibo, has brought the target population down 30 years which is great and adds to the vibrancy of the new Burnside Village Shopping Centre. If you ever decide to do a Cibo Crawl of Adelaide, I would end it here relaxing under the foliage.

Cibo Espresso at Burnside Village recently moved to the new extension which opened up about a month ago. One of the most certain things about this place is that it gets PACKED. When I say packed, I mean… You will be waiting in line to order for 20 minutes then another 20 minutes for your coffee. On the up side, it is in a beautiful venue with a massive gum tree(I think it’s a gum tree) placed smack bang in the middle of the floor, reaching as high as the roof. It’s fabulous! Sitting under the tree with all that natural sunlight, sipping a Cibo latte and reading the news and celebrity gossip is really very nice. There are ample tables and chairs scattered all over the place, so you’ll be sure to find one for yourself. The ordering process is quite efficient really, given it is always busy. You line up around the store, circling it. As you make your way to the counter you will pass the food displays, which helps when you want to secure a spot in the line but haven’t made up your mind about food yet. Well, now you can do both. Four stars. Pretty much all for the tree and venue experience. It’s just so pleasant. Plus the coffee when you finally do get it. If you’re not into the whole tree and sunlight thing, I suggest you try another Cibo where you can get your coffee in under 30 minutes.

This Cibo is pretty much the sole attraction in the new upgraded Burnside Village(besides Zara) and they got the absolute best spot for their café. Perched right underneath the giant focal tree which the new part of the centre is built around, the Cibo has 100s of seats, almost as many staff on at any one time and the food and coffee is of the same standard as other Cibo’s. The atmosphere is always loud, echoing and busy, with big lines at certain times of the day for your order. I personally haven’t had too much food or drink from this Cibo, but I can imagine it is absolutely as tasty as any Cibo product. They have a couple of coffee machines to pump out the lattes and giant fridges for all their brunch and lunch food and sweets. The staff seem friendly, and they always have something to do! You cant miss this Cibo when shopping in Burnside, and the look and feel of the place and that awesome tree with the occasional leaf falling through the net, makes it really enticing to go grab a coffee and cake.
